Sassuolo doing a bit of damage to the top of the table in the last few days.

Another loss for yesterday days man against bologna. He must be on borrowed time.

Inter the big winners these last few days.

Roma are 6 points off 4th, which is hardly grounds for a change of manager. Roma vs Inter will be fun at the weekend.

I don't see what other manager would have them shooting up the table either

    That's Sarri gone anyway

    Maybe.

But looking at the table, with the exception of Bologna and maybe Fiorentina I don't see any reason why Lazio should be higher than they are.

Scrapping for a EL place is about as good as they should expect

    Lazio.......what a crazy game!

The highlights are up on the official YouTube channel and are well worth checking out. One of the games of the season.

Just saw the highlights. Some crazy goals and especially love the second one and the poor lad looks wrecked from the run.

Speaking of crazy the fairytale of Jr. Messias continues with 2 goals against Genoa on his first start for Milan.

Roma getting outclassed by Inter. 3-0 down at home after 38 minutes. Dzeko has scored against his former side to rub salt into the wounds.

Like I said earlier, Mourinho on borrowed time. A fraud.

He's managing a side that finished 7th last season. They're not going to sack him this season if he improves on that position.

Brilliant goal by Malinovskyi to give Atalanta the lead at Napoli. I'd worry for Napoli without Koulibaly.

Zielinski makes it 1-1. This is a fun game.

Mertens restores the lead. Poor by Demiral.

2-2. Demiral redeems himself with a great finish from close range.

3-2 Atalanta! Freuler turns it around once more.

Full-time. Great game that brings Atalanta into the title picture. Milan stay top and only 4 points separating first and fourth.

They spent more than anyone this year on a player. They've invested more. Hence more is expected.

Absolutely fantastic game. The Napoli crumble continues. To be fair they are missing some huge players.

I never thought after the disaster against Sassuolo that Milan would be clear on top within 7 days.

Tight at the top though and Inter are in unreal form.

Thought Napoli would run away with the league this year, but would be backing Milan now. With Juve in transition, who will get back to where they were with current management, and Inter getting rid of theirs, it left the door open for Napoli. Didn't think Milan had the players to come close to replicating last year.

As it stands I think they are the weakest on paper, but most likely to win now. If Napoli are pushed close, they seem to crumble when the pressure really comes on. Inters management isn't up to it and will fall away at some point. Atalanta aren't big enough to win it.

Inter won it last year too, so Milan have to win it this year. Can't be behind Inter in league titles, not acceptable to Milan fans, they are the bigger club. They generally win it the year after Inter do to counter their success. All omens point to Milan I think

Simon Kjaer is out for 6 months after ACL surgery so that will be a huge dent in Milans season

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,397 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

Only twice out of their 18 titles have Milan won the year after Inter so I don't know where you dreamed that up.

Also from the 60s Inter were ahead on titles and Milan only pegged it back in the 90s during Inters crazy losing streak. The derby d'Italia is called that because Inter were the bigger team along with Juve. It's only Europe where Milan have always been the big team in Italy

Some great games this weekend. Verona have come back from 3-0 down at half-time to Venezia to win it 4-3. Can't wait to watch the highlights of that later.

Meant generally peg it back in a timely enough fashion

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,397 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

But that's not really true either. Both clubs had large barren spells where the other overtook. Juve are the only team in Italy with true unbroken success in Serie A (except during the calciopoli years)

Relegation battle looks intriguing. Genoa, Cagliari and Salernitana are the three spots so far. Spezia are two points clear and Venezia, Sampdoria are five points clear with Udinese another point further ahead. You'd expect Salernitana to go down but Genoa should have some money to spend in January with their American owners. Samp and Udinese could do with a few wins to get really clear from danger, Samp were really poor in the 1st half against Lazio today. Cagliari have been clinging on a fair bit the last few years, this could be the year they go down.

Well from my memory, mid 80's onwards, Milan have generally overshadowed Inter at every turn. Any succes Inter had was quickly matched. Even after the mid-00's scandal, Inter won a few leagues with no competition, moved ahead of Milan, who then pulled it straight back when they had to, out of nowhere really. Inter move ahead again, and Milan doing their best to pull it back this year. Of course every team tries to win all the time, but you feel there's a particularly big push from Milan due to Inter moving ahead, sort of a desperation about them.

Inter may have been bigger and more successful at one point in history, but for decades now it's been Milan. Playing second fiddle to Inter simply isn't acceptable for all involved with Milan. Milan had their internal struggles the past decade, so could begrudginly watch Juve dominate, as they sort of always won more league titles anyway. Content once Inter struggled beside them. But once Inter showed a bit of ambition lately, it's no coincidence Milan improved hugely, no choice but to

    Juve through as group winners.

Inter through as second placed team.

    Milan a disgrace.

Atalanta vs Villarreal called off because of snow until tomorrow. Should be a class match now to watch.

Disappointing result for Napoli, losing 1-0 at home to Empoli. They've gone off the boil of late and have slipped to 4th. Looking very interesting at the top with Inter narrowly ahead.

Time for Inter to make hay I think. Milan are screwed too of they can't get the injuries under control
