Until further information is released, I have to disagree.

You may as well say that the fact he was a man, means it was a misogynist attack.

The proximity to Kenosha, the timing just being after the Rittenhouse trial and the fact that he was a vocal BLM supporter do point to what you are suggesting, but it would be irresponsible and wrong to say with conviction that it was a BLM attack.

    Ah you're being ridiculous now.

The reason we wouldn't declare it a book club attack is because book clubs don't generally incite violence.

We need to keep an open mind with these things.

Its possible.. albeit likely.. that he was also a member of the BLM book club. Who knows what books they were reading. You ever throw a book at someone? To say a book could not be used as a weapon is ridiculous.

I was taught that words were my most powerful weapon, imagine what you could do with a heavy book full of them.

The media have been doing a lot of lying lately. I suspect the police chasing this red car might not be 100% accurate. Could be wrong.

Here is from an al jazeera article:

Germain, whose own 3-year-old daughter was in the parade, said he was driving at the head of their entry when he saw a maroon SUV that “just blazed right past us”. A police officer came by on foot chasing after, he said. "

In this sky news article they say that the police was following him but the video they show as evidence of this is clearly a massive cut in time. There are a whole load of people in red now in the shot when the police cars are 'chasing' after the red car.

It then shows police cars following quickly behind it, with onlookers moving to see what had happened.

That's not what it showed at all. Scroll to the 7:12 update to check the video here.

Has anyone seen evidence of the police chasing this car?

okay, if this was an affack in northern ireland, and the perpetrator was a sinn fein member, this would be like people claiming it was a sinn fein attack.

Possible that he had a loyalty card for the local supermarket. Clearly it's a case of a trade war between the local convenience stores trying to get the better sales numbers in the run up to thanksgiving and Christmas.

Tbf when he has posts on his facebook wishing death on white people, it does make it likelier. If there was a post on his facebook saying death to Walmart users, the above would be likely.

The media headlines would have you believe, right now, that he was 'escaping another crime scene'. This might offer some rationale, however warped, as to why he would do something like this. If he was being chased by police driving at 100 miles an hour we can kind of understand his mindset, of course he's still a murderous scumbag but we don't attribute malicious intent to his actions.

The problem is, where is the evidence of police chasing him? If he wasn't being chased then he must have had malicious intent. So soon after the Rittenhouse verdict, what other explanation is there?

Seems he was released from jail 2 days ago somebody paid his bond, the same day as the Rittenhouse decision. Interesting to see who paid that bond and why.

What an odd description for the event. Usually if there is an Islamic terrorist attack until the motive is known they would be called an incident happened in x place. This would be like calling the event in Washington a while ago a trump terrorist attack. This site can be a cancer when it involves race relations in America.

Pretty sure everyone else was equally confused by your post, either you were being sarcastic or you'd just won the worlds most deluded shinner award.

The usual obsession with what group we can blame for this incident!

Right now, what does it matter? Why the obsession?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,866 ✭✭✭superflyninja

You sure about that? In the current climate do you really think the Wisconsin police are going to frame this incident as a possible BLM terror attack? And even if they did can you bank on the likes of MSNBC and CNN giving the full straight up facts? Like they did with the Rittenhouse case?

*takes off tinfoil hat* Horrible thing to happen regardless of the motivations of the driver.

    i was being sarcastic.

anyway, to sum up my stance, pinning the actions of a murderous idiot based on the fact he was a BLM 'member' or BLM 'supporter' is searching to - or wanting to - blame BLM.

let's say he did do it because he hated white people. that still does not make it a 'BLM act'.

Forgive my lack of knowledge about the structure of the BLM movement, but is there an actual membership?

If so, is there a vetting process?

If not, then whats to stop all types of crackpots lunatics joining up?

America is on the brink. The worst thing you can do as an Irish person is get tribal in this nonsense, distance yourself as much as possible.

Oh it was a Self diving car was it ? Didn't think they were cleared for mass production yet.

Lucky kid, if it was a terror attack that kid would have been the first victim imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 726 ✭✭✭SupplyandDemandZone

If the guy was white who had sympatic posts on his social media about neo nazi ideals as well as posts saying black people where evil coupled with driving the car into a crowd of black people I think it would be fair to say he was a neo nazi scumbag and none would rightfully take issue.

How come BLM are a protected species when it comes to similar?

Quite simply people don’t seem to getting enough islamic terrorism and although willing to have the odd white supremest terror attack in the interim , seem shortchanged when it’s neither

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 726 ✭✭✭SupplyandDemandZone

I don't think America is on the brink at all. All people have to do is call out these lunatic fringe groupings like BLM or KKK etc... as extremists and not hide facts from the public.

The media has spent the last few years telling its audiences that white people are evil and black people are oppressed. That needs to stop and until it does these groupings will continue to have a voice.

There will undoubtedly be people racking their small brains to try to link this to misogyny/toxic masculinity or *anything* apart from BLM.

it wil be interesting to hear what the media have to say about the suspect and his background. Will there be any racism angle at all. If this had been a white man who posted hate speech on social media, you can be sure that they'd be all over it - regardless of whether the victims were white or black or whether his actions were endorsed by/on behalf of any group.

I only heard about this incident on sky news this morning and must admit that I swallowed the narrative about the suspect fleeing a previous crime which implies that the killings were a terrible accident.
