Presumably the strategy is that parents who are working from home may be more proactive in keeping kids out of school.

The boosters are still only a relatively new thing for Ireland, start when? In October? The nursing homes were boosted first. Then older people in communities like the over 80s. The boosters are now going to health are workers and the over 70s and the 60+.

There's so many people to boost and it can't be done overnight or in a matter of a few short weeks. Ireland is in a difficult position too with the boosters. The boosters are being rolled out but there's also high infection rates and other viral infections going around so some vaccine appointments will be missed due to people developing symptoms.

A magic wand can't be waved and have everyone done overnight or within a few short weeks.

That's why it's important to slow the growth of the virus so it spreads less within the population while they get boosters into people.

Meanwhile, behind all this, the data all says cases have peaked which means hospital and ICU will follow in 4-14 days and the danger is effectively passed for now. Our health system is not about to collapse.

Any further restrictions at this point will do more damage; social, economic and political; than they will save.

They also have to wait at least five months since the last dose though.

I used the HSE text line to ask exactly that and was told its only internally recorded on the HSE system but to date there is no possibility to add it to the cert and there has been no guidance yet on if/when it becomes available.

I'd love know what the supposed large portion of society that are wanting restrictions to be reintroduced are actually wanting. What level of restrictions are they willing to push on the rest of us so they can feel safe in their 'I'm alright Jack' little worlds.

Bar the one poster on here, with his daily rants about nightclubs I haven't seen anyone calling for anything in particular. Like do they want hospitality closed, 5km restrictions, non essential shops, building sites.

We are supposed to be living with covid yet at the first sign of rising cases they're running to the media surveyors crying about how dreadful everything is.

My mother got a walk in booster yesterday morning in Citywest, no issues as long as she was 5 months after her second dose.
