Ended picking up The Climb 2. Will be a while before I play it. RE4 will skip straight to the top of the queue.

    Godamnit (shakes fist at backlog)

I always start out people with a pure visual experience like a roller coaster:

They can just sit down and don't need to worry about controllers or which button to press etc, but they get the full visual idea of what VR is like.

I did this at a BBQ this summer with my family and cousins using my Oculus Go and it proved to be a huge party piece with the reactions... didn't consider the Covid implications at the time though.. d'oh!

This might also be worth a try if you wanted to go for full immersion with amazing visuals (although it's not free) ... still cheap for €9.99 though

Hold off till Oct 28th Facebook Connect conference where they might reveal a different headset to consider getting.

Talking of which, should they reveal a new Quest Pro or whatever how many of ye would consider buying one straight away?

If they could get the weight down to about 400g I’d order ASAP.

Little tip if anyone is interested. If you use a revolut card, have a VPN provider and have the oculus app installed on your phone. Change the location to Canada, log into the app, buy RE4, and pay via revolut. You’ll get it for €32.

Thanks for that. I got it for €34.35. maybe it thought I was in the US even though my Von was set to Canada?

Is the Canadian dollar cheap, or is the game just cheaper in Canada?

Wonder if this works for Mexico or South Africa (my Nintendo-bargain-hunting head on there)?

Holy crap The Climb 2 is effective for triggering fear of heights!!

Sweating like anything from nerves :D

Could be one of my favorite games on the Q2!

Tried RealVR fishing too. Didn't really feel the wow factor for immersion until I tried level 4 where you are in a river on a boat in the rain....and then... the limited FOV of the headset made it feel like I was huddled in a raincoat on the boat and I had an uncanny sensation of actually being there!

Well it's finally happened.. my Facebook account has been locked for some random reason

My fake one that is.. i.e. un-unlockable as there's no ID

Thankfully I'd prepared for this.. and kept my headset off the internet so, while my account is dead, the headset is still usable! All apps have been updated to the latest as of yesterday too, so at least there's that.

Looks like it's the pirate life for me for the Quest 2 anyway ... arr matey.

If Oct 30th reveals a snazzy new headset I'm warming to the idea of creating a legit Facebook account as I'm not as bothered as I was before, but the 7 or so games I've bought on the Quest 2 are unfortunately not gonna carry over.

Still, though, thankfully the headset is unlocked. The only downside is that ForeVR Bowl no longer works as it requires Internet. Might see if there's a way around that.

Yeah. You can just leave it barren. My forename has a slight spelling deviation and my first name has a nickname derived from my full name that I never use. The profile pic is me dressed as Rorschach 😂

I hope if it does get flagged I just have to show them my ID.

Anyone missing Unknown Sources on their Apps menu (for sideloaded content)?

Apparently was removed unless you had added your mobile to your Developer account by Oct 21st

Haven't connected my Quest to the net since my account went fubar so it's still showing for me but no idea what would happen if I did connect :/

Hopefully it's just a matter of adding your number and it reappears

Ouch they really don't want people lying down or sitting back against a wall wearing these with the rear bulk. Similar to the Frankenquest I guess.

"We need a token minority in there"

"But everyone is doing token minorities?"

    "Cut off her leg then..."

I'd take a halo strap over a garbage cost cutting fabric strap or elite strap will break if you sneeze any day of the week!

So went a bit mad on the horror games lately. Previously bought RE4, Saints and Sinners and now added The Exorcist, Wraith The Oblivion Afterlife, Dreadhalls and intend on getting Phasmabobia on Steam for the Halloween celebrations.

I also have an arm band heart rate monitor coming tomorrow that can send your current heart rate to OBS via a widget and intend on doing a private stream with it with a friend.

Going to probably use it for public streams too! Can't wait to soil my pants!

Nice, that’s actually a class idea. gonna pick up a heart rate monitor myself and use this around Christmas. The VR has become a bit of an ongoing tradition over the last few years. They heart rate monitor will be a nice addition.

In terms of horror apps, I was thinking of picking up affected, the manor. Only €10, and 20% off ATM. AFAIK, it’s more of an experience than game, but that’s exactly what I’d want from it.
