    Since the Roma 6-2 game...

    Won 6

    Drawn 2

    Lost 7

Okay, when it's put like that, he does probably justify his standing.

Still though, the nostalgic trip should be put to bed by now and he should be gone.

There needs to be a meeting of the board in the morning. The question should be:

    1) Is this squad good enough to win the league ? Yes

    2) Do the manager and coaching ticket have the skills, knowledge and game plan to win to win the league with this team? No

    3) What manager is available who can get the best out of this team?

As good and all as he had done, Ole has built a title winning team. Although lack of a philosophy and setting teams up to not lose rather than to win is something we would not let another manager get away with.

The only philosophy I can see his give the ball to Bruno he might play one of the fast fellas in.....

You can talk about lack of a DM all you want but in reality Donny, Sancho and Telles cost well over 120 Million quid to warm the bench while Pogba plays as a central wingfeilder ?????????? Three attack minded players with goals and assists with previous clubs left warming the bench while Fred still plays every week?

He would if he was as good as Klopp and won trophies

Who do people think should come in?

Conte probably the best available coach but our squad seems entirely unsuited to his preferred playing style.

I’m Ole Out. I can’t even read his pre match waffle anymore and I certainly can’t listen to him being interviewed after these types of defeats. He has no excuses left. This is a team with experienced world class talent such as Ronaldo, Bruno, Pogba, Cavani, Varane, Maguire, De Gea. Supplemented with Sancho, Greenwood, Rashford, Van De Beek, Shaw. And we’re always reduced to the same level of the opposition we face.

Just get him out. I’m a Poch fan but he won’t leave PSG so abruptly. Conte….. not sure he’d suit us but you never know. Zidane is a gamble bizarrely for a few reasons. Rodgers would be great but the Liverpool connection rules that out.

    Any other ideas?

    3-5-2:

    DDG; Varane-Lindelof-Maguire; Sancho-DVDB-Fred-Pogba-Shaw; Ronaldo-Bruno

My Ole out position has never exactly been given much reason to change for the positive, and today was another day it became more hardened.

When will this **** end? Who knows. Its so disappointing, looking at the talent in that squad that will be completely wasted.

Ole out from me too. Ronaldo hasn't time to hang around so hopefully that'll force the issue sooner rather than later. I wonder what the atmosphere was like in the dressing room.

Ronaldo is our best hope of getting him out.

The Glazers will be thinking "we're in the top 4, what's the problem?"

Ronnie needs to use his influence to get him out.

The club will never recover from the embarrassment of putting Ronaldo in the Europa League.

The Liverpool connection didn't stop Benitez taking the Everton job and what real loyalty has Rodgers to Pool. He was sacked by them.

I'm not sure Ronaldo has that much influence at the club. And I don't think he would necessarily cross Ferguson trying to usurp Ole. I can imagine Ferguson's instinctive response to a player trying to undermine his manager would be highly negative. I can imagine Ronaldo is going to have a very limited patience though. He presumably had higher hopes than losing at home to Villa.

The best chance I think is Ferguson displaying some of the old ruthlessness, calling round to Ole and telling him to jump before he is pushed. If on the other hand Ferguson still thinks Ole needs backing, then Ole's position is secure.

I wouldn't care about that if he was the right manager and available. But he likely isn't.

He wasn't good enough for Liverpool

He's not good enough for us

He's obviously playing him to try and get him to sign. Otherwise he may have been dropped for some games for better balance in the side.

I'd be delighted to see the back of Pogba.

Lazy, no workrate, no consistency, can't play in the 6, worse than Lingard and Rashford off the left. Has one good game in about every 10.

Why give him a new deal? It's just more problems trying to shoehorn him into the team and way more hassle than he's worth.

Shows there's absolutely no width in the team. Means the full backs can tuck in and there's no space for the 4 central attacking players that for some reason are all there. If only there was good wide players at the club to replace one or two of them with but you'd probably have to pay 70m in this market for that 🙄

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,231 ✭✭✭TRC10

    Yeah as a player.

It's not that Rodgers managed Liverpool, it's that they sacked him. He wasn't good enough for them.

And he hasn't done enough at Leicester to prove he's good enough for us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,250 ✭✭✭✭Sand

Honestly, my view is that I would like to think there is a competent leadership at United that could identify the best man for the job and go get him, regardless of nonsense like he worked for club X, so we can never hire him. If Rodgers was hired and led the team to a title, the whole hangup about him being sacked by a rival would quickly disappear.

But this is all fairly irrelevant - Rodgers isn't the right coach, for reasons already pointed out. He isn't available. And either way, there is no competent leadership at United to identify the best man for the job. Assuming Ole is sacked, his replacement will be selected by the same guys who hired Ole. That is the grim reality.

We've lost 3 of 5 games since the last international break. We had the benefit of 4 home matches in a row in this block of games, but have deservedly lost the first 2 against teams who rarely/never have joy at Old Trafford.

Next up is a Spanish team in European competition, we rarely do well against Spanish teams in European competition. Villareal drew away to Real Madrid tonight, so presently they are no pushovers like...eh...Young Boys were supposed to be.

Ole has been given chances and backing that Moyes, LVG and Jose could only dream of. He didn't get that DM during the Summer, but a DM is not the difference in us being able to compete against West Ham and Villa. Will a DM make us suddenly look like a well-coached side with a clear style of football? Will a DM make our coaches better at in-game management? Will it fúck.

Almost 3 years in, £400 million spent, there are no more excuses or places to hide. Ole, McKenna and Carrick are being shown up for exactly what they are - Luckriders, learning on the job, as of yet still incapable of coaching an elite football team.

This squad is going to get wasted, better managers will switch jobs, all the while we will wait for Ole to become a good football manager

That's it for me get the lad put.

However, the amount of times Greenwood took the shot on when he should have passed was criminal. He had a great opportunity to slide Ronnie in around the back at the end but didn't.

Bruno on the people, dear God Maguire was lucky once with DeGea pass and 2nd when he flattened maginn

It really seems like today has turned a lot of people on Ole. A defeat in Europe would likely mean that end game has begun for him but he is an expert escape artist… 4-0 win incoming ?

That seems to be the way it goes at Ole's United alright. We'll probably score more in the next 2 games than the previous 5.

I'd be utterly delighted and consider it a corner turned, only we've turned that many corners under Ole it's like we're in a maze.

It’s the routine now. Do bad enough to tank our chances of a top tier season, and when it looks like it’s time to go, go on a run good enough to achieve some minimal goals like top 4, giving enough of an excuse to keep him round a while longer.

Well his baby toe is better than our manager so I'd say he is good enough
