kind of amazing how much quieter the threads are this year comparing to last, the change to the new website has been really terrible, it makes finding new threads a pain in the hole for one thing! Only three pages in last week's thread, used to have more than that before the first game of the week!

Anyway good slate of games for early Sunday, could see most of them go either way.

The whole site hasn’t been the same posting wise since the change

Yeah it’s certainly not been great for the NFL anyway. And it’s a shame because I think I can speak for everyone that the lack of posts in the threads is no reflection on @paulie21 who does a great job making sure there’s a thread every week and has done for years now. I understand that they needed to change the site for good reasons but they’ve changed it too much and IMO it’s way too inflexible. I mean you can’t even quote someone easily now and I think it was @MileHighGuy who pointed it out about the fact you can’t do it.

21-11 so far. Not at all confident this week though. NO vs NE seems like utter madness vs boring predictability. Will we get NO looking more like week 1 with their coaches back? General rule of thumb for me is to bet against the rookie QBs if it is close so NO it is. I feel like the Packers are improving and the 49ers have not fully convinced so far but it is still close enough to go for the home team.

wish deshaun was playing with the texans tonight, would make it interesting. can't see anything other than a blowout. and i've 0 interest in the texans this year. unlike another crappy team like the jags where i'd definitely have an interest to see how Trevor Lawrence would do

Run CMC does a hamstring and is out of the game, yet another injury for him.

Hi All. 20 - 12 coming in. Bit late getting my picks in this week but I had them done on Superbru if anyone wants to verify!

    Panthers @ Texans

    Saints @ Patriots

    Ravens @ Lions

    Washington Football Team @ Bills

    Cardinals @ Jaguars

    Colts @ Titans

    Bears @ Browns

    Chargers @ Chiefs

    Falcons @ Giants

    Bengals @ Steelers

    Dolphins @ Raiders

    Jets @ Broncos

    Seahawks @ Vikings

    Buccaneers @ Rams

    Packers @ 49ers

    Eagles @ Cowboys

Bucs Rams the obvious standout I think but really looking forward to Herbert vs Mahomes as well. Be interesting to see how the Raiders back up last weeks win against a decent Miami D. I've probably gone out on a limb a bit with Vikings over Seahawks but I really thought the Vikes were great in defeat last week and Seattle have seemed a bit flaky so far this year. I think the Pats will struggle to do anything on offense against that Saints D (especially with Lattimore back) but I could see Bellicheck and that secondary really scrambling with Jameis and taking a few picks off him again this week. Overall another great week of NFL to look forward to!

For reason this says I picked the Texans which I didn’t as the cbs sports app will show. This **** message board. I had CMC on my team ffs so why would I pick against him ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,511 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Just to show that I did in fact pick the panthers and not the Texans last night.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,870 ✭✭✭Christy42

I will frequently pick against my own players if I feel they can perform well while losing and CMC is one such player. I mean I believe you picked the Panthers like everyone else I just find the logic odd.

I had used your post to copy from and got confused for a second wondering if bold meant the loser when I saw that but that didn't work with Cards/Jags match. I hadn't realised that there was an app for this as well as I have just been posting here.

Finally with regards to the message board I find it amusing that when I quote you it does * up your swear word when I am typing. I presume it will * the quote when I post it but anyway.

Looking forward to this weekends games.

I think Chargers/Chiefs is really interesting. Chiefs haven't looked great so far to be honest, their defense is a mess, they are getting destroyed on the ground and their pass defense isn't much better. They were lucky to get over Cleveland in week one and obviously came up short against Baltimore in week 2. Obviously Mahomes is still great but I think they'll struggle against the better offenses they can't keep expecting miracles from the offense., Jones looks lost at DE too.

Rams/Buccs have probably been the two best teams in the NFL so far, so it's great to get them in the 9:25 window this week. Neither has had a really tough test so far so this week will tell us a lot more about where they stand. I don't think the Rams defense has been as good as they were last year, but they are looking much better on offense. For Tampa Brady is looking as good as ever and much better than he was this time last year.

Finally 49ers/Packers should be really interesting on Sunday night. I think it will come down to how well the Packers O-line can hold up against the 49ers pass rush. If Rodgers has time he can shred the 49ers secondary. If not and its close I think the 49ers run game can deliver a win.

At a guess I'd go Chiefs/Buccs/49ers but I think all 3 will be close and all should be good!

38 yards of offense in the first half for the Bears. Make the pain stop.

There isn't a commentator in the game who can touch Gus Johnson.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,511 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Missed the end of the first half’s in the early games but Justin fields is experiencing the sometimes harsh reality of the NFL has hit him five times today. The chargers are really feeling it against the chiefs.

OBJ looks good for a guy who’s missed nearly a year of football.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,511 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

And Mac Jones is joining fields in the rookie teething problems.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,511 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

The bengals are pulling away from the steelers.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,511 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

The chiefs take the lead against the chargers.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,180 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

The boards update completely killed the forum on gameday. A real shame 😥

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,031 ✭✭✭✭Foxtrol

I still say all the rookie QBs are looking like they were expected to.

From the earlier slate, Nagy is showing he doesn't know how to use Fields, Jones is dink and dunk and can't make the defense think (Saints are giving him prevent defense during the last drive so expect the final numbers to be padded), and Lawrence mixing the very good with bad in a poor overall offense.

Jesus, seven sacks on Justin Fields and still the 4th quarter to play. 40 yards lost on sacks, 59 yards gained both on the ground and through the air. Not a good look for the Bears. :/

4th and 1 on the 10 yard line down by 10 and the bears kick it, c'mon Nagy show some trust in your QB. Browns march right down the field and make it a 14 point game.

The chargers retake the lead in KC.

The state of play as we enter the home stretch of the early games.

One or two screens would slow down that pass rush but Matt Nagy is too f**king stupid to realise that.
