English subtitles and I think English dubbing......I thought subtitles would bother me but in the last 12 months I've really started watching alot of tv from other countries and subtitles don't bother me at all anymore. Watch the first episode of trapped and you will be hooked. Great ending

Trapped is great, Season 2 equally as good imo.

Presume the lot will arrive on Netflix at some stage given they've actually commissioned the now forthcoming third season.

I got a Lookahead email from Netflix that included a trailer for a Korean series coming soon called The Squid Game, which could be good - seems like it might have a similar feel to Alice In Borderland.

My main question is whether it was filmed in English or dubbed. Hopefully if dubbed they'll have an original-audio-and-subtitles option.

There's a German/Austrian 'remake' of The Bridge called Der Pass/Pagan Crossing, on Netflix; watched the first 2 episodes. Pretty good so far.

The Schumacher documentary is a great watch , especially if you were following FI in the last 90's , early 2000's like myself.

It's out tomorrow so will soon find out, but very likely filmed Korean with English subs.

I see they added another He-Man series. Strange having the 2 animated MotU series close to each other like this

It'll be up to you - available both subbed and dubbed. When I saw the trailer, it was subbed.

    Totally agree both excellent.

"Case" is also decent...but doesn't seem to be available anywhere currently.

For fans of scandi drama/crime shows bbc4 have one at the minute called "the hunt for a killer" it might be too slow for some but I think it is genuinely brilliant.

Disturbing and compelling, in equal parts. I feel guilty for enjoying it. Its very violent!

(As others have said, original-audio-and-subtitles is available, that's how I'm watching it).

Yikes; that reads like something that could swing towards either a sympathetic portrayal or something very exploitional, and voyeuristic.

It just got cancelled and apparently ends on a cliffhanger. It may affect your interest..

Did National Treasure go to a second season? Always thought it looked worth a watch but my biggest pet peeve with television at the moment is shows that could have been brilliant at 6 to 10 episode run getting extended into meandering multi-season bores.

Phew. Was one I wanted to watch but the "Season 1" made me think they over-extended it.

Netflix Acquires Roald Dahl Story Company

Netflix has acquired the Roald Dahl Story Company for an undisclosed figure, giving it access to the full catalogue of works from the famed British author.

The deal extends a relationship between the two companies that began in 2018 with an initial pact that gave the streamer access to 16 titles for animation adaptations. To date, projects put into motion include Taika Waititi and Phil Johnston’s upcoming series based on the world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and an adaptation of Matilda The Musical with Sony and Working Title.

Netflix said today it was eyeing the creation of a universe of projects based on Dahl properties across animated and live action films and TV, publishing, games, immersive experiences, live theatre, and consumer products.

Dahl’s books, which also include James and the Giant Peach and The BFG, have sold more than 300 million copies and have been translated into 63 languages.

Headquartered in the UK, the Roald Dahl Story Company is led by Luke Kelly, Managing Director, and has 26 full-time employees across 8 departments including: Theatre, Entertainment, Licensing, Publishing, Marketing, Finance and Operations and Design.

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos wrote in a blog post: “There is a moment in James and the Giant Peach when the Ladybird says: “We are now about to visit the most marvelous places and see the most wonderful things!”. The Centipede replies, “there is no knowing what we shall see!”. Netflix and The Roald Dahl Story Company share a deep love of storytelling and a growing, global fan base. Together, we have an extraordinary opportunity to write multiple new chapters of these beloved stories, delighting children and adults around the world for generations to come.”

The exceedingly charming The Farewell was added recently - Lulu Wang’s lovely, sweet drama about an Asian-American woman visiting her dying grandmother in China. If you’ve only seen Awkwafina in her brash supporting blockbuster roles, this shows her operating on a much lower-key register to great effect. Zhao Shu-zhen steals the show though as Nai Nai. Has the trappings of ‘crowdpleasing indie’ all over it, but the film feels genuine in a way these sorts of films so rarely are.

Just finished the first episode and it's a good solid setup for a limited series - for context, I really enjoyed both Hill House & Bly Manor, although I would admit that Hill House is the better of the two as a horror series.

Anybody got any French recommendations? Films or series.

Not Call My Agent, Lupin, La Révolution, The Bonfire of Destiny, Marseille, or Divines.

Yikes. I completely forgot about that, Netflix's first big swing for a blockbuster franchise. I guess not completely dead then, though hadn't heard any news of sequel films / TV shows (probably just as well but I remain salty about how big a wanted opportunity it was).

Not a movie but has anyone watched Brand New Cherry Flavor? I thought it was bonkers in the best possible way, I absolutely loved it.

It's not entirely dissimilar to a season of American Horror Story, just significantly better.
