Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know if access is allowed to view the cars in Malahide on the Thursday night?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,543 ✭✭✭goochy

feel like a kid waiting for Santa to come , waiting for Cannonball to come to Cork this afternoon . Any body get a look at what was in Malahide this morning ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,078 ✭✭✭PCros

Was there last night and there was a great atmosphere.

Pretty much every car you can think of plus they had two Ford GT's arriving in but they didnt arrive until after midnight I think so missed them. Approx 150+ cars in total.

Does anyone know where in Galway they are stopping at? I know it used to be Salthill before.

I just happened to drive through the port tunnel with the cannonball run a few years back and it was amazing. The noise they made as they slowed and accelerated the whole way through. They were clearly enjoying themselves.

Beshoffs had Gulf livery GT coming off a trailer on their FB page. Hopefully its there . Hope Ford GT isnt a let down in the flesh

Way more cars than in previous years, around 12-13 Lambos alone. Highlights - Ford GT, new Honda NSX, beautiful Corvette C8, 81'Pontiac Trans Am, Rezvani Tank and many others.

taking the Tarbert ferry to Killimer?? but sure that can only take a handful of cars at a time, that'll delay it big time surely😶

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,543 ✭✭✭goochy

Anyone going 2c it is in for a treat . Great cars and great bunch of people . Saw some cars never seem in flesh before SLR ford GT and a weird American 4x4 Rexrani

Does anyone know where they'd be stopping at in Cavan?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,001 ✭✭✭timple23

If you search David Cuddy or makingbigbank on instagram, he is on the run and showing lots of cars at it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,411 ✭✭✭ofcork

Thought the NSX was one of the best cars there looked stunning in the metal.

Yes liked the nsx too . It was on UK plates from wexford honda dealer . Wonder what road tax would be as it's a Honda . Like the fact u could see engine in back . However unlike the original nsx not much of a sound off it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,543 ✭✭✭goochy

Meant to say as it's a hybrid

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 739 ✭✭✭barryribs

Saw the mangled bumper on the BMW and was wondering what happened alright.

The NSX is amazing in the flesh alright. My own car bottoms out on the road from Listowel to Tarbert, can't imagine what it was like the lamborghinis or the McLarens

Anyone have any info on exact route today or where they are stopping for lunch. Going by the map says they are going through Ballymachugh and R194. So I'm thinking that means they will go through Ballyjamesduff / Virginia and stopping for lunch somewhere around there? 🤔

Anybody know which route they are going to take to getting out of the hotel?

will they swing left lthen up lough at Ali’s road?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,923 ✭✭✭SouthWesterly

Forgot it was on and was heading out for the afternoon yesterday . Saw the cars as I drove by. Kids were thrilled. Was pouring rain so not a day to stand around

Delighted they are still keeping it going you would never see cars like that especially in cork.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,543 ✭✭✭goochy

Sad to think the internal combustion engine might not be around for much longer , so much anti car sentiment around these days it was great to see kids getting so excited by Ferraris and lambos etc. Great feel good factor about the whole thing.

Friend knows one of the participants and he said the people who take part are great bunch - theres no boasting about one person having a better car than the other .

A young enough guy ( had an irish surname but cant recall it ) let tons of kids sit in his Aventador roadster at Ballymaloe . Just sat on a bench beside it and enjoyed seeing so many people getting a chance to admire it.

Was supposed to go to the galmont and watch them leave, was late so went to Athlon M6 circle k, kids could sit in cars there for a pic. Decided to follow them to Cavan, great buzz and sounds.

Petrol engines can run on ethanol, These super cars won’t be scrapped any time soon

Car enthusiasts should be massively excited about the EV revolution. The sound won’t be the same, but the potential for amazing engineering and extreme performance improvements are eye watering

Strange crash, seemed to slow, then speed up.

Looked like they all were going too fast considering they were in the city in a built up area.

Went to Lahinch yesterday, waited for ages and I'd say only about 30% of the cars came through. No ford GT... I jknow they run late but this seems to have been a total shambles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,543 ✭✭✭goochy

Saw some of the driving online in kerry , saw some super cars overtaking on continuous white line on a bend . They are not doing the run any favours with dangerous driving. Hope the weather was better today . Seems crap weather in Dublin and kerry

I met the cars in athlone. Impressive alright. I was disappointed by the Honda NSX to be honest. Totally underwhelming. The Ford GT was resiculously impressive. Mustang decided to “warm up” his tyres on the fore court of the petrol station. Good buzz about the place.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,666 ✭✭✭Muppet Man

I was Also disappointed by the general lack of Irish cars. All UK or NI plates as far as I could see.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,543 ✭✭✭goochy

yes definitely very few irish exotica , irish cars tended to be porsche , bmw and merc. Was happt to see the Irish SLR

That SLR was behind me for about 50 mins going to Cavan from Athlone.

put on a great show, every town or slow moving traffic he would lift up the doors or slow down and give it the beans.

    that yoke moves.

i think lockdown meant people enjoyed it this year more than usual , this event could easily have been cancelled had things not improved with covid. Guy driving the Bmw 645i is a secondhand car dealer near me in Youghal . I saw him in Ballymaloe on Friday but then saw him in Youghal Saturday afternoon , he must have gone home for something then caught up with them in Galway

Thank the irish revenue system for that. VRT, road tax and all that blah blah blah

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,543 ✭✭✭goochy
