How to change email address

Hi,

I changed my email address to a made up one as my previous was my real name and I no longer trust the site not to accidentally make it visible to users.

I get pop up messages to verify it. It's not a real address so I can't. I can not edit my profile to change it to a valid address. I get a permission denied error.

(I tried adding pics to this post put got a 403 error if I copied & pasted the image and also if I added as an attachment.)

Thinking only way it's done is to log into site and update email details and password.

You have to use old info when you joined and that needs to be changed on your personal account with them.

On desktop I get a permission denied error when accessing my profile so cannot change email. On phone I can access my profile but I have no edit ability.

I'm in a similar situation. I used a dead email account and now when I try to link my current email it asked me to confirm via email, but the "confirm" button in the email is just an image and not a link

Received an automated reply saying it could take up to 24hours for a response.

No response as of 50hrs + later.

Unable to post in regular forums (not really a major issue as you can see by my post count)

The confirm email notifications keep stacking on top of another, filling the screen meaning I have to refresh the page every minute or so to see anything.

I'm getting this too, the notification keeps stacking up making it impossible to read a thread.

Typing this is near impossible as the notifications fill the screen so I'm typing blind and hoping for the best.

For anyone else reading this, wondering what the hell these two morons are crying about - imagine trying to type a message but your text box is filled with Tetris blocks, only they're not blocks, they're full rows. And it's on difficult.

The spam wasn't the issue as we couldn't see anything with the notifications anyway.

Any chance you could help us sort the actual issue? The site is unusable, you can clearly see that from the drop in traffic. It won't get any better if mods only come in to delete what they consider spam.

I'm gonna leave another "spam" post here. Now, I don't believe it's spam because when is humour ever irrelevant?

Plus, it also helps bring further attention to the issue that needs resolving.

As this is the only thread I can post in, I am doing the best with what I have.

Oh. It turns out now that the video I posted in my previous post, it did not appear. It appears boards have rescinded that privilege.

State of affairs thus far:

Me: I cannot verify my email address. The site is next to impossible to use cos the screen fills up with 'confirm email address message'. I cannot use the site.

Boards response: crickets

Me: I post a few videos in good humour, reflecting the nature of my issue.

Boards response: Deleted those posts. Because they're spam.

Ok. What about addressing the issue?

Only the office can do anything. Only they have access to personal info such as email addresses, mods never had any visibility of this.

I registered a new account. But as @corsav6 said, there is no link to click in the confirmation email sent by boards. Just a confirm email button with no hyperlink behind it.

Isn't this a priority issue for the site? New users cannot use the site effectively.

Odd, I'm also gmail. How are you accessing the email? Browser, desktop/mobile, third-party email application? Is the logo at the top of the email clickable (should go to Boards homepage)?
