Results of the Stage 1 tests are now out! Check your emails/texts...

Jeez - that was quicker than expected

Happy I have passed as was my first go at AP, but I reckon I'm way too down the OOM to get called for the next stage. I suppose a lot can happen in 2 year's but I won't be holding my breath. Overall I'm not overly disappointed though

Here is the qualifying criteria for the next stage:

"It is intended to invite those candidates who achieved a total score of 117 or higher and who have selected Dublin, Kildare and Wexford to Stage 2 of the selection process which is Video Shortlisting."

Says it only used situational judgement to determine OOM in the end

Snookered me, verbal was my best score and SJ my worst that has me left outside the points for interview this time round at least

    Ah well

Anyone have any idea if they'll call anyone outside the 117 threshold at a later date??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 973 ✭✭✭tgdaly

I was a bit confused by this, so you could pass and be placed on the OOM, but if it's not over 117 you won't get called to the next stage? I'd assume that's just starting off with, and if they work through all those over that score they'd lower down into the next group?

Total score of 114 so just outside the cut off, confident enough that I will get called in the second batch

Shocked at score of 73 in the verbal but only scraped a pass in the sjt

Situational and Verbal, according to my correspondence

"While you were required to reach the qualifying standard in each test, your place on the order of merit was determined by your scores in the Situational Judgment test and Verbal Test only."

    I got:

    Numerical 56

    Verbal 73

    Situational 53

Disappointed that Numerical doesn't count and that I did so badly in Situational.

results out, did a lot better than i thought 46 in numerical when i thought i had failed. Scored 68 in verbal and 60 in situational judgement, enough to get me through so better do better prep than last time!

    Lol

    So it does

I suppose on that evidence i should feel lucky to have passed verbal 😎

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32 JosTep

If you score under 117 - you may get called in a later batch - for Dublin - the qualifying score for the Regions has not been set but that will be the same or a higher score, depending on what happens between then and now

Now im going to really make an ass of myself, but dont you just have to total > 117 in the two qualifying scores, and youd be well above that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 462 ✭✭delricyo

I scored just outside the 117 cutoff (again!)

Hopefully they will go down a few points if they call more

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,913 ✭✭✭KaneToad

This is my understanding too. Maybe the poster is confusing OOM with test scores?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 793 ✭✭✭jaja321

OMG - I cannot believe I passed. Literally cannot believe it. My first time passing the numerical! Scrapped by SJT but did well on verbal - but didn't get higher than 117. I got 112 so hoping I might bet called for a later batch for Dublin??

Anyway, I'm just so delighted that I passed I don't even care what happens next!

I passed 🤣🤣 utterly shocked tbh. Didn't get enough to be called to next stage but I am not too upset about that

i read it wrong thought it was OOM not the score so edited my original, speed reading not good in these situations lol

Scored around 130 but am in the 200's on OOM. The standard seems high.

I'd say everyone who passed will get called to stage 2 at some point. Barring a moratorium, at least.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43 APapplicant2021

Mine says Situational Judgement and Verbal?

I passed and got placed in the 260s on OOM. Total score of 124 but I'm in Munster so no interview yet and possibly at all for me. Shocked and very pleased, I was full sure I'd failed numerical.

Passed all the exams but not enough to get through to the next stage. Did well on verbal but only narrowly scraped the situational and missed out by a few points on the overall. Oh well. I'm happy to have passed all sections and I passed the verbal and maths fairly well. I was feeling a bit iffy about the situational. Would be nice if they ended up doing a second batch at some point but they probably wont need to

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28 AP2021

Aha, my plan or goading PAS into providing results earlier has worked!

Seriously though, decent turnaround from them. Hopefully everyone here is happy and the batches run as quickly as last time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭PhoenixParker

    That's very good for situational.

If you think about it you need to average 58.5 in each to qualify for the first batch, which is a high bar all by itself.

Verbal tends to have slightly higher scores across the board (cut off of 43 for Verbal vs 40 for SJ)

A 53 in SJ is well up there.

I'm in shock that I actually passed numerical and did rather well in it, I'm consistently poor with SJ, but happily managed to get through.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43 APapplicant2021

That's a score of 126, seems pretty good given they're calling 117 and over for interview in Dublin and surroundings?

Last time they took a score of 126 or higher forward so it looks like they're going for a bigger initial batch this time. I'm going to guess it's 500 vs 250 last time, give or take.
