    Great book about Richard Nixon the premise of which is, his corruption stemmed from the Arrogance Of Power. FG in particular suffering from the same thing. We need the toxic power share gone.

    The 'Lessons to be learned' nonsense we hear constantly from FFG politicians when they get caught trying to pull a stroke for one of their cronies is some amount of guff.

    Like could you imagine working in the private sector on a package worth 200k plus a car and driver and you balls up and offer your boss the excuse that there are 'lessons to be learned'. He would be saying 'here is security and they are going to escort you out of the building, that is your lesson to be learned'

    I was wondering who coached Coveney for that spoofing at the Committee today. Would it have been Terry Prone who FG have spent hundreds of thousands with or would it have been the other FG favourite Heneghan PR who now employ Enda Kenny? Surely Enda has made a few quid out of recent events, they didnt just employ him to tell stories about the man with two pints 👍️

    Seems like that's exactly what she is. Couldn't give a fiddlers about any causes it seems to me. She was a cold calculating person in government here doing the bidding of FG. Greedy as anything. People such as herself give politics a bad name.

    Wasn't it Enda who nominated her to the Seanad in 2011, and then when she got elected in to the Dail for the FIRST time, Enda appointed her a minister. Hers must have been the seat Enda promised he would give Helen McEntee if she didn't win the by-election. 🙄

    KZ owes her entire career political career to FG. Independent my ass.

    I'm not particularly anti Fine Gael or Zappone but this whole debacle is very worrying.

    The role which clearly made up for Zappone would have carried a lot of prestige. It's not about the salary it is the status the post would have conferred on Zappone.

    The only defence you could give Covenney is that he did not see the role as particularly important, but the blatant lies, since the story broke, deleting texts has damaged Covenney considerably. Maybe not in hardline FG supporters but definitely among the floating voters.

    This was Boris Johnson, or Trump levels of lies when the truth is clearly visible.
