I'm starting a new 10 week exercise program today, and it's crazy to think that it will be Nov 14th when it's finished. I've done a few 10 week ones before, and it feels like an eternity away from Day 1, but in reality, I know it'll fly. We'll nearly be in full on Christmas mode at that stage!!

We bought paint and curtains Yesterday and I just got an urge and bought new dinning chairs and a new display cabinet.

I'm looking forward to sprucing the place up for Christmas.

We're doing it earlier this year.

Two new Christmas Duvets arrived today that I ordered from Amazon US, that's on top of the three I got last year. Thinking about changing them around each week from end of November up to 6 Jan, that way get some use of each of them.

I love how random days (17th of Sept example) have significant meaning to us yet wouldn't really mean anything to majority of people.

I know people have said it before, it's like being in some secret club!

I have started to keep a Christmas list as my OH gives out each year that she has no idea what to get me even though I tell her all I want is socks and boxers. My list so far contains:

    -socks for work

    • socks for exercise
    • boxers

And then one foggy Christmas Eve….

Fierce fog out here this morning. I love it. Very wintery vibes.

I have my Christmas socks in rotation (not on any organised way) all year round. Haven't been on any waiting rooms lately though ☺️

Yep, big change since yesterday morning.

Could have done with old red nose out our way earlier when dropping kids off!

Last Christmas I had some Nike and Under armour shorts for himself as part of presents because when lockdown 2020 hit and the good weather we had working from home he needed shorts but kept saying il get them when the shops open back up, he’s been delighted with them this 2021 😂

Think that'll change during the course of the day, looks like it could be quite warm & muggy today... just glad i'm WFH today & not in the office like yesterday, it was that hot in there thoughts of christmas were miles away.

love it Lough I have to stop myself singing it😂 heavy traffic out there this morning according to the radio

just wondering how many of you here are still working from home?

Got word yesterday my home improvements are delayed a few weeks I’m drained by it all I know it’s first world problems but I feel like I am in a brain fog with the house, I feel once I get it done it will be such a relief, I just feel stuck, I’m trying not to get too overwhelmed

    Have a great day everyone

I have started "saving" something I want just so the wife can get it for me for Christmas.

Two years ago I wanted to get myself a cordless drill but held off and told her to get it for me for Christmas, last year a new pair of runners and this year a new pair of boots. It means you get something you want and takes the pressure off the missus of getting something for someone who never wants anything. 😄

I try this with the OH and she says 'surprise me' .......queue panic mode 😬

Spot on. I do the same, I was about to order a new Fred Perry polo the other day and the Mrs. asked if she could get it for me for Christmas, so I said fire away... I'd have probably kept it up until then anyway and this way she knows she's getting me something I really want.

Assume there'll be an audience of some kind this year?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 11,380 ✭✭✭✭DvB

Well they had a small audience for the normal LLS on its seasonal debut last Friday so assume with restrictions to lift even more in October there should be at least some people in attendance.

Lets hope so as definitely needs the audience participation/interaction.

I agree it helps, though I have to give RTE & Tubbers credit for last years toy show, I had genuinely thought it would be a pale imitation of itself but they pulled it out of the bag & gave us a cracking toy show... and remember the date Friday November 26th!!!

Last year's Toy Show was actually really good, we all enjoyed it in our house! Kids will be looking forward to it again this year!

100%. They did a great job. Hopefully this year's will be even better.

Just gotten an email from work saying that if restrictions are still lifted for December we'll be having our traditional work lunch & drinks on our last day before we wrap up for Christmas (we don't have a party as such, we finish up at lunchtime, head out for lunch & drinks afterwards) and that venues are currently being sounded out for bookings.

Really hope this goes ahead now, used to love that last day in the office as everyone was in great spirits for the holidays ahead and it was nice to get out as a group and have a few drinks etc. It always set the Christmas up nicely & I missed it last year.
