Seem to be selling very well around there, even ID.4 taxis. It would be rare not to meet one around Wexford town currently.

Yes a lot of ID3 and ID4 around Wexford, a relation has a blue ID.4 in south Wexford. I never see any other ID.3 around Kilmore Quay, but most days there are a few Tesla M3 in the area, noticed they are the celebrity chefs' car of choice atm and also popular with the yachting fraternity..

Either way, better to have it than want it, I'm hoping it will take a lot of the stress out of driving, particularly on a busy N7 and M7 where traffic can go from 120-0 in the blink of an eye. I think it's really ridiculous the id4 hasn't got it as standard on such an expensive car.

Not too sure it will sell so well now considering the significant price increase, it might give the id3 the edge. Though I haven't seen the price list for that, must check.

I will say it takes a bit of bravery to trust the ACC to stop you. There's a couple of times the traffic is at a standstill up ahead and the car is speeding up to them because it hasn't detected cars inside it minimum distance. They're still a long way from replacing the human driver

Also, as with most ACC systems, if you tap the brake pedal it turns it off. It's be nice if there was a audible bing or something, just to remind you that you are driving the car now

Still, my experience of Travel Assist has been good so far, did a trip from Dublin to Waterford and back without issues. I did notice that it thought it was in a 50 area on the motorway a couple of times on the M7/M9 and this has only happened once on other roads. I wonder is the mapping on the M7/M9 a bit off or something

Spotted a nice few ID.4s these days. A white taxi in Cork to complement the Grey taxi in Cork I spotted the other week. Spotted a grey one around Pouladuff (That you Padraig?) and was tailing another Blue ID.4 all the way from Cork to Dungarvan this afternoon.

Spotted a Blue ID 4 in Naas today with the mud guards. Can’t say I’m a huge fan of them on it, looks wise anyways.

Be a far cry from mud an ID.4 will be going near.

No idea about the mapping, I'll probably sh1t myself using Travel assist in traffic until I get used to it.

Travel assist will get updated via OTA updates so it will be interesting to see how it evolves.

At over 2 ton you may ring yourself throwing up more mud than you expect

Probably me alright, I did pass a blue ID4 there the other day alright - I gave a little wave. If it had a broken windscreen it was definitely me anyway!

Ship leaving Emden tonight for Dublin and my dealer was just in contact to say they are expecting my car next week, so looks like only a week or so more to wait now !

Yeah there's one around me, looks great, kinda wishing I'd been brave enough to go for it

Saw a blue Pro one without the silver trim on the roof recently. Have to say it looks pretty good without it

Not sure, was lucky to get a build week around 10 days after order.

    Just lucky I guess

You must have got a car already earmarked for production. Very lucky.

Your i3 has ACC right? I think if you're used to ACC then it's an easy jump to the Travel assist as it's basically just lane following on top

My Leaf has dumb cruise control, will happily drive you into the car in front, so I was used to being in more control of the car. It was mostly learning to trust the car to do it's thing without me intervening

I'm thinking of finally upgrading my phone and would like something with wireless charging and wireless android auto

Has anyone tried the Xiaomi Mi 10 phones? Any good with the car and in general otherwise?

Look for some input on ID4 Driver Display.

Firstly, great thread, read about 100 pages of posts and great info about all sort of things - some very knowlegable & enthusiastic people on here.

I took one for a test drive, nice drive, great space, felt comfortable and so on but I didn't get enough time in it to check everything fully out.. I only had 1 thing I wasn't mad about and that was the driver display, I felt it lacked a bit of effort and it was just thrown together. I took a screen shot from Bjørn's range test drive and want to know if the driver display changable - can anyone confirm this for me please? The display reminds me of the old Atari car game pole position.

Considering it's something I'd be looking at every time I go for a drive, it may just bug me too much. I'm sure it doesn't bother others.

Anyway, would appreciate input on this one.

No, my i3 has dumb cruise too so the id3 will be a big change there especially with travel assist + an extra 50 Kwh of storage. 😀

The blank on the right is filled with directions when using maps. Tbh I expect a big software update in a few months to use it better.

take away rev counter, engine temperature, fuel gauge etc you are not left with much

I have an ID.3 but I think it's exactly the same.

The drivers screen is one of the things I really like about the car, so simple and clear to read. All the info is there, except for battery %, which does show up when the battery gets very low.

Your pic shows only two of the main info available. If you have a destination in the sat nav then another screen will open up where it is blank in your pic, showing you your turns and distance etc. You can enlarge the various screens by toggling wheel buttons.

Your pic shows that the battery is probably near full, hence only about 60% regen available (Green). Full power is available(Blue) and there is a small bit of power being used, probably A/C or whatever. Very simple to see at a glance.

I think VW got the screen pretty good to be fair.

F!cking car didn't charge last night and I'm heading to Kilkenny

Wasn't even using the charge timer, I'm using timed boost mode on the Zappi instead because it should be more reliable

I reckon the car fell into its deep sleep mode and wouldn't start the charger. When I checked the app this morning I must have woke it up and it finally started

Luckily I'm not leaving till midday so it's got time to charge up, but it's really frustrating when this happens 😡

That's a pain, raisin. I've been rock solid so far with Scheduled charging on the Zappi, using Eco+, so fingers crossed your experience last night was just an aberration.
