I'm in the 18-34 group - rang every pharmacy in my county on the participating HSE list. All but one told me to ring back in a week or two. The one waiting list I did get on said i'd probably be waiting 4-6 weeks.

Guess i'll be heading on my holibobs without the vaccine. Thankfully the sensible countries i'm visiting accept antigen testing.

Just register next Monday when the opt in portal opens for 18-34, might get one through that before a pharmacy

If you're 30-34 register on Friday with hse. I'll be doing the same.Take whichever comes first.

This was what the pharmacy told my daughter, mid to late August. By then they may not have stock they said.
By mid August the portal will be open for registering for Pfizer or Moderna.

Yes, I'm sure they are.

You can still be added to a waiting list. Some pharmacies haven't started taking names yet as they wanted to get an idea of supply first, so there's still a chance of getting it in the next week or two depending where you go.

i looked on a few pharmacy websites this morning first thing just out of interest to see what they said and they all state the bookings are full.

it seems that the few pharmacy spots for j and j will be taken by the younger bracket of the 18-34 cohort which obv goes against the whole age basis roll out but be nice to see some 18 year old get included at this stage

Is registering an appointment? Reason asking is where people register with multiple pharmacies - it may cause subsequent issues with available slots being blocked off.

Jesus we're fairly catching up and with all these J&J vaccines given out over the next few weeks we'll probably be racing ahead.

Are the UK figures not: 64% fully vaccinated and 86% with a single jab?

Aren't the UK at 50% of total population rather than adult? (33.6m out of 66.6m)

I think your UK numbers are total population. Adult population is over 60% fully and 85% with one dose

Yes they do and for good reason. Magnitude is meaningless as a like for like comparison.

Pharmacies and GPs can do what they like, they're independent businesses.

The age based approach doesn't make as much sense when under 40s aren't vunerable to COVID.
