Best thing cabinet could do now is stall for time, give themselves 48 hours to get independent analysis of projections and make decisions then
That would then involve restaurants trying to get open on the Monday but only being told on the Friday

He doesn't need to. Delta is here, numbers of Delta cases increasing here, B117 did the same and they dropped the ball with that. This has been coming for some time you just have to watch whats happened in the UK we are 2-3 weeks behind them.

The UK had 3 COVID-19 deaths reported yesterday.

11 deaths a few days ago, which translates into less than 1 death here.

Tenerife went back up a level last week to stop indoor dining amongst other restrictions, this was because a small region in the north went out of control, but the entire island was punished. The hotel, bar and restaurant association took the government to court straight away and this morning won their case to get back the right to allow indoor use. Why can't Ireland do something like this, no fight back from these associations that are paid to do just this.

NI tourism is going to continue to boom.....
It really doesn't seem fair at all for hospitality in the south at all now

Weddings up to 50. No other relaxation of indoor activities (not just hospitality). Cowards.

Sounds like the government are deferring to NPHET.

Fianna Fail have a habit of deferring responsibility during a crisis.

At first, it was the Troika.

    Now, it's the medical troika.

Not even a date for indoor. Wow. Looking like August / Sept. Crazy stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,444 ✭✭✭✭namloc1980

Everything is on hold not just hospitality. From the gov.ie website:

Indoor activities, such as organised events, return of service in bars and restaurants, training, group exercise, dance - will not proceed as planned, pending the implementation of a system to verify vaccination or immunity. Government will devise an implementation plan by 19 July

    COWARDS!

Makes sense if the alternative is a two caste system.

Makes zero sense so the majority of people working inside won't have the jab....but the customers will?!?

    No date either...christ

I get my second jab in NI early next week, I knew it would take an age before I would get it in my 30s down here
