    Young people have given up enough for the past year and now they want them to be denied entry into pubs and restaurants because of something completely out of their control.

    It would make sense if a vaccine was available to everyone in the country but it still isn't unfortunately and won't be for a few months yet either.

    We are too far down the path of no return for the politicians at this stage they will continue to hide behind NPHET and throw them under the bus when the inquiries begin and walk away unscathed.

    The worst thing is I think we were catastrophically unlucky to have had a general election a month before this kicked off; the poor results and shambles of a three-party coalition has left us in this situation where no-one wants to put their head above the parapet.

    I hope publicans/restauranteurs never forget this and let any of the current government politicians/NPHET in their premises for any type of pint photo-op in future around election time etc.

    What a farce. Watching full stadiums in Copenhagen and Bucharest here and dreaming what could have been fixture of the tournament in Dublin tomorrow with England vs Germany.

    If the fully vaccinated side of things goes ahead, that's me sorted at least. And I'm young, too!

    That said, there should be NO delay to the July 5 reopening.

    I reckon the recommendation is a mix of what RTE and Virgin are reporting.
    Close for several weeks but if ye insist they open, let them open for vaccinated people only.

    "Several weeks". It was always going to be after the August bank holiday. Tony always assumes we'll start licking tables if allowed near pubs on a bank holiday.

    Meanwhile pub owners lose yet another of their most important weekends. It'd be funny if it wasn't so tragic
