Kerry could win the All Ireland, but you're going on like they've not been beaten in their province for 11 years or the championship for 7...

Grab a bowl of coddle and the Herald and sort yourself out.

    Ok :D

First shock of the championship today in Newry, Down at home, Donegal overrated,,high mielage on some of them,Murphy with injuries and finished

Hopefully you didn't have to travel far for it because the match isn't on until tomorrow

Even if kerry do brake the dublin streak, football is in a worrying place

I'm expecting most all Irelands now to be between Dublin kerry for the next 10 years, some serious hammerings today

Kerry looking decent but the media hype is ridiculous

Clare's year being over already is a joke.

Expected Mayo to win by at least 16, they are the All Ireland finalist up against a Div 4 team that was even hammered in their shield final. A 20 point winning margin achieved in a contest that was as good as over after 15 mins.

Kerry strolled past Clare, some thought the banner county would give Kerry competitive match but i had my doubts as Kerry after what happened to them in Munster last year was always going to be determined to lay a marker down while Clare had basically achieved their season objective by retaining Div 2 status.

Big win for Limerick against Waterford it won't surprise me if they take out Cork next.

Looks like kerry learned something from last year, because this Clare team is probably better than Cork were in 2020.

Whatever about Mayo, Sligo football is an absolute mess, a bog average Tourleatrane club team have won something like 6 or 7 years in a row, and not much coming through in the way of development. It's amusing to see RTE still giving a platform for a clown like Eamonn o Hara to slag off neighbouring counties like Galway and Roscommon when he has no interest in improving his own county.

Some gig for Tony McEntee tho

Sligo at a very low ebb. Glorified training session for Mayo. Hard to see how improvement will take shape for Sligo going forward.

See this GAAGO service. Can you pay for one off games with that? Appears to be its €25 for all games but does anyone know of options to watch single games?

It was 8 euro to watch a championship game yesterday, Up from 5 for the league.

I must say the coverage was a lot better than last year. Big improvement overall.

    You poor cratur.

You've bought in hook, line and sinker.

lol I would say it was yourself who bought it hook, line and sinker Bonnie.

A Dub playing the cute hoorism card, be god it has gone full circle. Next thing we will have Tyrone lads winning fair play trophies!!

Donegal goal given after a good 12 steps taken.
Then Niall O'Donnell knocks a Down player after the ball was passed and nothing given at the time and Down lose the ball as a result. Donegal go back down the other end with a point and Deegan then books O'Donnell for the off the ball hit despite not giving a free. Refereeing is so frustratingly inconsistent.

Michael Murphy gone off injured which would be a huge blow for them. Nevertheless, they're so far ahead of Down.

He needs to be brought back around.

Too many articles about Kerry in the indo and on RTÉ being taken as fact.

That McGovern lad from Down who was sent off should have a lengthy ban, filthy tackle

They are miles ahead on scoreboard but have scored a goal that should have been a free out to Down as Donegal lad took 12 steps!!
Donegal not going to win anything with that defence,Mc Gee is well past it and will be exposed against stronger opposition.

Poor form that players losing first round games have no more County action for the rest of the year after putting in months of training individually as a result of Covid.
GAA need to get their act together as regards proper plan for Championship going forward as it is dying a death at the moment with one sided games. Some cricket scores recorded against weaker counties in Hurling games yesterday.

It's almost as if their hand was forced by something outside of their control

Covid conditions did not dictate that there only needed to be full knock out this year....GAA could have put a working group together last October for example to come up with a few possibilities depending on how Covid situation was at any particular time in Spring 2021.....and proceed from there.

Instead we ended up with half a league and half a Championship. The latter stages of the league turned into a farcical situation where even County managers didn’t seem to understand how results would effect the final standings.

There's absolutely no reason to not have a back door or B championship this year.

I only saw there now on tv. The panel skipped through it fairly quick , but I'd hope the book is thrown at him .

so screw the clubs is that the answer? The notion of buidling the calendar around less than 1% of the adult playing population is farcical and thankfully the decision makers have realised that.

    "Murphy finished"

Why would anyone would attribute any value to any opinion given going forward is beyond me.

Controled the game until the hamstring played up again.
    Fit he is unmarkable.

Think that's the 3rd time sent to the line this year. Should have the book thrown at him

Down player was fouling the Donegal player. He was using the two hand in the tackle and prevented him from standing up fully at the start when he got possession.

Technically it was s foul inside the 14 meter line preventing a goal scoring opportunity. In that case it should have been a penalty. Yes he took steps but only because he was being fouled which prevented him playing the ball. Ref played the advantage.
If he pulled for steps he should have gone back to the original two hands in the tackle foul.
