What's made up ? The fact you just got caught spoofing ?

you address the fact that stadiums in Ireland are allowed a couple of hundred as "open" but the euros etc are considered closed.....

No way making anything up, you were caught bull****ting. End of
Yes you did but I couldn't be arsed going back over it as a few have highlighted your bull****tery already...
All massively reduced so you are technically only talking 90 percent ****e....
    Ccouldnt be arsed tbh

The 'concern' motif running through his work is a brilliant meta-satirical device. No matter how much the danger recedes the author-narrator 'Tony' still feels concerned. Very enjoyable and I don't normally like avant-garde lit.

Hopefully so, to be honest I won’t be leaving the country myself but we need to start living with this bloody thing.

I just cant believe the amount of people on here that seem to be still behind the restrictions and that are defending holohan and nphet.
Ye must be the most anxious, scared, conservative ppl in ireland.
I just dont get it. I feel like im going insane here.

The vulnerable are vacinated pretty much. Feck all in hospital, feck all deaths.
Most of us who contract this virus are fine.
But yet here is little old ireland. One of the first nations to gain independence from the Uk. You would think that would have given us some balls down through the generations. No. We have went the oppoisite.
We have the delta variant now . It was the delta plus variant the other day or whatever the hell it was called.

Our current government are an embarrassement. Spineless.
Give the running of the country over to an arrogant civil servant who is now getting the hero status. Its bat**** crazy.
I moved back from abroad a year ago but christ im regretting it!

Stadiums full at most euro venues. Indoor dining open around europe . Travel around europe open except here.
Antigen testing used. Not here though. Tonys ego wouldnt allow that.

To all the people on here who support this and are behind these restrictions, have a long hard look at yourselves. Maybe think about the bigger picture for once. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
The hotel owner down in kerry that was on newstalk this morning, (didnt get the whole interview), but was livid with our politicians. And rightly so. But yet there were still people texting in agreeing with the restrictions and not opening up the pubs on july 5th.

This will go down as one of the biggest mis managements of any crisis in history, not just here but the world over!

So what, why don't you a few others address the FACTS that we are
    1. last country in the world for outdoor dining
    2. Last country in the world for indoor dining
Because none of ye can justify it.

So again absolutely nothing to do with the comment made and to which I replied?

Did you not have indoor dining all sorted down the bookies no?

I think you just might have a bee in the bonnet about indoor dining tbf.

We are in a perpetual cycle of stupidity. I cannot believe we are still in this situation after 15 months. There's no logic or reasoning to back up continued restrictions, the lockdown argument has been lost. Let us have back our freedoms in their entirety, and let's hold those to account who have decimated our society.

Feel free to name them, for All the accusations, no one can say who these people are..

Seriously so so sick of all this. Lets not forget the government’s roadmap to reopening last year when we hadn’t even a vaccination solution. Lets move on - the older and vulnerable for the most part have been vaccinated.

Are you suggesting they don’t exist? Or is your point that they are not named specifically renders the accusations invalid?

the thing i cant understand is, here right in front of politicans is an open goal. here right now is a glorious chance for someone to make a name for them selves. we can call this "politican X", Deputy X, see the public outcry and knows the score, he also knows the chances of hospitals being over ran because of this variant is very small as the old and vulnerable are vacccinated, remember not one of these were vaccinated in December when all was open, and we got by , with not massive deaths either. so why would some politican or even leo not take this chance to shoot down NYPHET and gain huge kudos by the voters. its a very low risk, very high reward stance. pubs will open , cases will go up, but nobody will be in hospital with it . so a nothing story. theres 13 people in ICU , just think about that.

I know its hard to imagine that Covid could be still a pandemic after all this time.

But do you mean current restrictions? Cos' our last lockdown here ended on the 12th of April

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_lockdowns

And there’s no country in Europe who have lifted all their restrictions to date. And yes nearly every country has taken a different approach.

That said overall with vaccinations- things are looking a hell of a lot better.

Gross oversimplification to elicit a response.

Nasty troll tactic in an attempt to cause others to get banned.

[which now has caused a ban - your game is clear and in the open]

Today I went to the Cinema (and had buttered popcorn)

If your argument is it's not the same, fire away

Its quantifiably not the 'same' - therefore I must assume you are insane.

EDIT: A big clue is it wouldn't be called the 'new normal' if it were simply 'normal'

Exaclty! It should have been an open goal for alan kelly and labour, but he turned out to be so useless in the end. He went all zero covd at once stage.

There seems to be no party appealing to the likes of me. I consider myself a mostly centre voter. We do exist like! But there doesnt seem to be any party or politician appealing to that voter right now. Ive been a FF voter most my life but will never vote for them again after this. They are a SF lite at the moment.
So there is no one i can vote for except FG.
These pricks are so obsessed with appealing to twitter that they are forgetting about their core base.
Im sick of it at this stage. Let the shinners in. Maybe its what we need in order to realise what we really need!

That’s really quite childlike. Those posters exist. It’s not necessary to individually name them to prove they exist.

I understand that some posters are trying to provide a balance, but others are dogmatic in their total support of government and NPHETs pace of easing of restrictions at every step. That in itself is anyone’s prerogative though, much as I can’t fathom it.

And I guess if you want to believe they don’t exist then that’s your prerogative too.

Pathetic, absolutely pathetic. So just like you asking can i name a poster , are you going to deny that there have been posters on this thread that are happy with the restrictions and to follow blindly tony bloody holohan! It doesnt take a genius to read this thread to see that.

Do the paintings hang upside down? Is the movie played at 70% speed?

There's adjustments, I've never said there isn't, but you're still looking at a movie, or a match, or a painting.

Some find solutions, some find problems.

yeah very scary tbh that a politican with nothing to lose and everything to gain wouldnt call out NYPHET and TONY , its like shooting fish in a barrell. stuff like this really opens the door to a lunatic like an Irish Trump.

Yes we certainly agree that things aren't the same, one might call them odd, and question why they are odd. Many posters are doing so.

I'm not sure I need your permission to 'go on', I'm merely humouring you and your posting style, but may I say in my opinion your posts lack both credibility, sense, and have been widely debunked.

Except I never actually said that to you?

Easy to "debunk" me if you invent what I say......

Was watching British TV this morning and they said yesterday there were 27 Covid deaths and 1163 flu and pneumonia deaths. I would imagine the flu/pneumonia numbers are probably lower than average for this time of year given the restrictions, and would probably be multiples of this any winter time, so why haven’t they locked down or introduced restrictions for these respiratory illnesses in previous years?

    It’s absolute madness.

Didn’t know you’d get flu in summer thought it was a winter thing the pneumonia is different probably, Hard to know why they didn’t do anything before but all covid this past year. But what about other illnesses and waiting lists.
