Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    STOWA €50 voucher

Just got an email from Stowa offering a €50 voucher valid until 23:59 on 31/05/21. They say it's personalised, but it may well work for someone else here - I'm not in the market for a new watch.

It's a one time voucher, so...if you will definitely purchase a new Stowa by 31/05, pm me and I might be able to save you €50...

1st to reply gets the voucher - but please only request it if you are 100% going to buy a new Stowa.

Blue strapped version of the G Steel I posted above for €138 delivered
At that price I'm nearly tempted myself though I already have a variant. The Solar and radio controlled time makes a great watch to just grab when your rushing in the morning. Out of stock but you can preorder.

Amazon UK build any customs fees into their pricing so far as I'm aware so that should be the price you pay

No the price I quoted includes Irish VAT Amazon collect it. You'll see in check out UK VAT is removed and an import fees deposit added so prices go up by 3%. It's actually dropped another €20 since I posted so down to €166.50 or so if you pay with revolut.

    Thanks Guys.

    Another question for you.
Any thoughts on this? From this newbie’s point of view it seems to be priced well.
Seller has sold a good few watches with good reviews. Anybody here?

Thanks. And on the watch itself. If I’m correct these are about €430 new?

    Not you is it?:D

Oh no its not me. Yeah the ceramic black is around 430 euro + around 17 euro delivery so not a bad discount. They are an alright watch, a little on the thick side but as hommage watchs go stienhart offer great value for money. They also tend to resell well.

You won't be disappointed with that Steinhart! For €300 I can't think of any watch that would come close on specs for that price. Had one and enjoyed it a lot. I eventually sold it on, but had no complaints.

At €300 that's good value. Only thing to say is, the lugs can be long and at 42 mm if you have small wrists it will look big on you. If you can at all, try it on before buying it.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Not to burst your bubble You can get it for €177 form amazon Italy if you can return it.

    https://www.amazon.it/dp/B07JF61L6J?

I've been tempted by it myself the last while it's on offer. I'm just not sure about the Orient name or logo, though it's a better quality watch than a Seiko for the money but think I'd sooner the spend a bit more on the Seiko.

On the look out for something similar myself want something with high legibility and leaning to a black dial. Would like Arabic numbers but that's not as much of a deal breaker. Basically I want a Seiko Spork which is discontinued or a Sinn 857 which is slightly over budget! €200 is about the limit.

At the price point I prefer the Ray II over the Seiko 5 but if the budget was higher Id go Seiko for something more modern in classic modern diver.

I ordered one of these at the end of May. It's out of stock at the moment. Amazon have told me (in Spanish) that they will email me when they have an expected delivery date. Are Amazon likely to "honour" the order when no money has been taken from my bank account yet? Does anyone have any experience of this sort of situation and how long might the delay be for me?

If you ordered via Amazon directly, rather than as fulfilled by or Amazon marketplace?
I'd be very confident they will fulfil the order, I've had similar experiences myself and always fulfilled.
    Lovely watch btw.

Still a couple of days to run on this, €325 at present, in Italy though and you could get a bracelet from Spain

I'm guessing that many of us got the email with the 10% off watches over $2000 on eBay offer?

Anyway for those that didn't, the code is THISTIME10

This is most likely another email that 80%+ of the posters here have gotten, but!

On the off chance that anyone in here hasn't and is considering buying from Watchmaster.com a range of discount codes up to £500 depending on the value of sale.

Some great deals on Timeshop24 for Seiko's 10% discount with EMG2021 till 22nd Oct extra 2% discount for paying by bank transfer. Possibly better using Paypal for the extra protection. Paying by bank transfer is very much the norm in Germany though. Site might switch you to UK site which don't stock Seiko but just switch back to Germany.

Black Dial or Pepsi Turtle for €318 delivered

Pepsi Arnie is just €10 more

Or Save the Ocean Great White Turtle on a bracelet for €30 more

I'm very tempted to get one and probably will. I've nearly ordered an SKX a few times recently or put in a offer on adverts for this sort of money and these are better watches. Leaning to the Save the Ocean I do like really like the dial and it's on a bracelet though I possibly have to many blue watches I keep getting drawn to them! Pepsi Turtle probably my next preference. Do like the Arnie and I'm tempted by the solar to have anther watch like my G shocks I can just grab in the morning but it probably a little big for my 17cm wrists. I know it does wear a little smaller than it's size suggests. Decisions Decisions Decisions!

Few nice Presage Cocktail Times for €290-300 mark if anyone is looking for something dressier.

The dials on these really are lovely in the flesh. I do really like them but know I'd hardly ever wear it.

The Casio Marlin (black version) is popping up on Amazon.com for around €45 including delivery to Ireland. I presume there'll be a few euros import duty but it doesn't seem that bad if someone wanted a cheap beater.

Ryath if you are hard on watches for about €100 more go for a Turtle with sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel,

I would consider them except I hate cyclops! Don't understand Seiko putting them on the new King models.

I'm not particularly hard on them. My Seiko Monster is coming up on 9 years and still has no marks on the crystal as the bezel protects it's so well. It was my main watch for a few years and I work a fairly physical job and it was worn for a lot of fairly heavy DIY and gardening. I wear the G-shocks for the dirty jobs these days though I still wear the Monster in work a fair bit. I do mind the Samurai though the Bezel on that doesn't wear dings as well as the Monster.

Was tempted to stretch to the new Tortoise that has sapphire €435. Think the case actually looks better than the Turtle and wears a bit smaller at 42mm. After ordering a new phone though so money is a bit tight this week so may not be getting either. Have two old phones to sell so if I can get them shifted tomorrow I may order something.
