Just saw all your posts on other thread. You have definitely problem with riot police. You know there are numbers to ring and get help. In case you don't, feel free to ask and I'll get them for you. Or you can keep going as you are. Doubt you'll get far, but good luck anyway.

You missed the earlier video of a young fella getting beaten by a garda weilding a baton. Or deliberately pretended you couldn't see it.

Tbf, there's a serious amount of young scrotes running amok in Dublin on a day to day long before Covid. A few slaps is refreshing to see if it's one of them.

Same young scrotes would use this to try and stir trouble. And there is scrote auld fellas aswell who would jump in. They don't fear the Guards at all.

I for one have long been an advocate that the guards need to get tougher.

Anyway, they need to open the pubs Tuesday unless they want sustained public order issues. The message is ****ed and its pointless.

Worst implementation of an outdoor summer agenda we could have had.

Will things settle down next week, outdoor dining open everywhere so people will have more places to go. Would think things will improve. People are already looking forward to outdoor dining, a few people I know have places booked.

Yeah I imagine the rough element of outdoor drinking this week won't bother going next week as they won't get in to places in their tracksuits and hopefully the streets won't be busy so they'll just stay home. Crowd will be regulated and separated within venues only thing is the 11:30 closing will push everyone onto the street together hopefully that won't cause any issues.

Case numbers are irrelevant. Hospital numbers below 100, ICU below 30. It's nanny stateism gone mad that we are still where we are. Reopening pubs with the same restrictions as 6 months ago despite 3 million vaccines administered. 200 people at a match in a 40,000 stadium. Scapegoating young people to try and enjoy themselves outdoors. Gas. More people under 45 died in car crashes wearing a seat belt in Ireland last year than under 45s died of Covid. Do we ban driving until we find a better safety mechanism than seat belts? While we trudge along at a snails pace, each week means more borrowing of money by the government.

No idea what you're on about tbh.

What's with the irrelevant ranting about "stadiums" and "car crashes", "seat belts" and de young wans enjoying themselves outdoors wah?

Previous post referred to there being no spikes following socialising and in reply it was highlighted that case numbers have indeed remained elevated etc

Now if you want to take that and talk absolute ****e instead of what was being discussed - please be my guest.

He's abdicating his responsibility. He has no business being a member of FF if that's his stance.

    But yeah

Cases numbers have remained stable, not elevated. Which would also mean there were no spikes. As an aside, when you/they say elevated, what do you mean by that? Elevated against what exactly. The numbers are steady and have been for a while now, which is good news. We have also seen hospital numbers drop considerably, indicating a decoupling of case numbers to hospital figures. This is important as the hospital figures are now the only ones that count. With 80 people in hospital and 3 million vaccines administered it's probably time to drop the emergency health bill requirements and let society start to return to normal.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Good plan, exactly what's happening as restrictions are relaxed.

Incorrect. Case numbers have remained elevated. . And not me saying that.
    that. For example...
Covid case numbers reported daily remain at elevated levels...

Peter Lunn of the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI)

Plenty of other sources report the same thing just in case you don't like that one. And noticeably In the last week case numbers have also risen

    https://www.irishexaminer.com/business/economy/arid-40300106.html

    For context see original comment.

But as to dropping the "emergency health bill requirements" - that's highly unlikely to happen whilst only 50% approx have received just one dose of vaccine and many others including high-risk group 4 & 7 have yet to receive their second dose and their first dose in some cases. We have yet to reach a comparable vaccination rate to that of the UK for example- who consequently are ahead of us with regard to rolling back restrictions.

But yes as has been detailed many restrictions have already been rolled back with more to follow shortly. Ignoring that for an "open it all up" when we have yet to reach the 80% of adults with at least one vaccination makes no sense whatsoever

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,620 ✭✭✭ceadaoin.

And people are still catastrophising about cases when there is a vaccine which prevents severe illness in the vulnerable, why? Doesn't the US show that it doesn't take 80% with at least one dose for a drastic reduction in cases and deaths? But, but the UK! And they have also seen a drastic reduction in cases, hospitalisations and deaths, despite the fear mongering headlines.

    It's time to move on.

Well no they're not - but more importantly who is saying "its time to move on"?

And very important question. How many people are fully vaccinated atm?

Sorry, I edited my post. You're too quick!

I mean, the US is 40 something percent fully vaccinated. But going by where i am right now its 100. No one is wearing masks, life is normal. Where is the fear of the variants here? It's non existent.
