Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

well I just booked 4 weeks to the med for July/August with the announcement this evening on travel. Now I don't seem to care as much about this ridiculous weather we get here. Relief at last.

Very jealous! Don't think we will get to go abroad as still no sign of vaccine for us and our son won't be eligible for vaccine like all kids so don't know how the green cert etc will work for families.

Will you bring the good weather back with you for the rest of us stuck here!

sure who knows what could change by then for the better or worse

You don't need a vaccine. A negative PCR test will suffice

Yeah that's why I booked, I should be vaccinated soon anyway, well the first dose

I wouldn't be comfortable going without being vaccinated. You never know might be lucky and get vaccine soon!

Achill was like the Med today. Wall to wall sun and 18c (in the car). My parents weather report.

The app that predicted today's cloud and rain moving West predicts more sun tomorrow afternoon but cloud n mist until then. A lot of cloud in the East too

Very heavy drizzle in Northwest tonight. Hope it gets itself out of the way before tomorrow afternoon beach trip.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,047 ✭✭✭appledrop

We maxed out at 13 degrees yesterday at DA.

Newport got to 19.6, sounds lovely!

At least its dry this morning, no sunshine yet.

We might see 16 degrees later in Dublin if we are lucky.

Hoping tomorrow is nice enough for a beach day.

I just hope what’s outside now isn’t it for the weekend It’s been a wet and miserable week here except for Wednesday evening and the good weather we’ve been promised is so far a cloudy morning with a temp of 12 degrees.

It's lovely here drinking a mugga tae in my garden now. About 3/8 cloudcover and no real wind. Already got warmth in the sun.

Yipee sun shinning here now, I obviously just got up too early!

    This is more like it.

Not quite there yet about 15/20km west of you. Very cloudy but bright however can see blue patches to my east, out your way.

Clouds are finally relenting and the sun is coming out and it's nice and warm.

    East Cork.

Wall to wall cloud it actually looks more likely to rain than the sun to come out. 14 degrees. Sizzling indeed!

    Summer has arrived in Dublin.

Beautiful sunshine and can actually wear a summer dress without being cold!

Cloudy overcast and looks like it could rain here in Firhouse D24!
    Ridiculous weather.
So fed up with constant grey (hate that so-called "colour") and lack of sunshine.
Yes we've had it on and off the last few days but mainly off
Delighted for those elsewhere who are getting sunshine.
Meanwhile on with cloud and dull conditions here.

Genuine question would there be that much difference in weather as seen by the last 2 posts in this thread in Dublin?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,475 ✭✭✭✭Thelonious Monk

It was sunny in Dublin earlier now it's more cloudy with the odd bit of sun breaking through.

yes there would be. Coastal parts of Dublin are sunny but further inland, there is high cloud. I'm sort of in the middle of the two zones, the sun is shining but there is a lot of high cloud around, especially to my west.

Cloudy now in Dublin 16 but can see clear blue sky to my east.

It's 100% the case. We live by coast and drove over to mountains here in Southside and its like a different day!

    Should have stayed on Northside!

same thing here in Meath, blue skies to my east, wall of high cloud to my west.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,473 ✭✭✭Mimon

Probably half and half sun and clouds the last couple of hours after being totally sunny for a couple of hours earlier. East Westmeath.

Not complaining, just not used to the heat in my sun trap garden so some relief from the sun welcome

Down around Tusist, Kenmare today, such a fantastic day, saw 20C on the car later in the afternoon, got up to 18.4C at my site.

Pic from Dereen Gardens around 13.00, got clearer as the day went on.
