Great honest review of the 128ti Mark. Fair play to you.
Will be interesting the reaction you get on the golf gti thread. Mat Watson preferred the 128 over the golf too.

Jesus, how are these fellas getting these cars...

The spec on this is unreal.

They have some beautifully speced cars there, always keep an eye on what they have. The M5 they have is the best priced I can see in the country. Great cars with very reasonable prices.

If you did buy something of them and it turned out that they got into trouble could you lose your car in any way?

Once the car was owned by them and there was no loans/finance outstanding on it you'd be fine. If you are thinking along those lines though a warranty from them may not provide as much peace of mind as a warranty normally would.

some of the newer cars must still have manufacturer warranties right?

The M3 with only 4000 Miles is sweet. Looks like an English car. How would the mileage be so low on a 3 year old?

Their stock the past few months has been serious good in fairness.

Plenty of machines there to fill most peoples ultimate garage. M3 CSL price is nuts thats about what they cost new, suppose rarity factor has a huge bearing.

Very last car I came across on their stock list was the new model m4 and after being impressed by car after car and saying, wow, thats lovely, the face of the m4 was a bit of a shock to the system. The 172 m4 is beautiful.

And landcruiser amazon for 140k? Surely, surely that won't sell in Ireland. Even if vat qualifying and 333 tax. Unless some arab wants to drive over the dunes on donabate I dont know anyone that would buy it.

I bought a car off them a while ago. Really good experience in fairness and didn’t get any dodgy vibes at all off the owner

I see BMW are offering 1.9% finance on the 128ti.

I think they have been doing so since launch? Definitely have been on the m135i anyway. They offer it over 4 years too which takes some sting out of the monthlies.

Didn't know they were doing it all the time, I only seen it on one of Colm Quinn's advert. That's an unusually low rate for BMW. Golf GTi Clubsport would still a better package with 0% and better resale value though.

342 a month. Hard see past that and see the 15k up front and 20k settlement in the haze!

Yeah I worked out that the saving on 0% versus 1.9% is in excess €2k over the 3 years - obviously this will vary a bit depending on the deposit you put in, but ballpark 2 - 2.5k. Not insignificant.

Residual values, who knows, but I'd be confident alright that the VW will be the far stronger seller in the used market.

Yeah, the 1 series has been at 1.9% for a long time. It certainly was when I was looking late last year. I presume it was at that level to compete as that was what the golf was at. It’s really low for a BMW but I don’t think they will match the zero figure the golf is at now.

The finance, free servicing, bigger discount and probable strong residual make the golf a cheaper ownership prospect.
I still think the interior is too low rent on the golf for the money asked. Bob Flavin even highlighted the poor infotainment in his latest clubsport review.

40% gmfv after 4 years ....I thought it'd be lower TBH.

this has to be the most expensive 520d I have seen. Individual colour and all.

Mental money for a 520d. Can you imagine the depreciation on that after 2 yrs...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,599 ✭✭✭Buddy Bubs

I've seen them in the mid 80s fully loaded but that's a first in the 90s. Mental

Itll be a nice car for someone in 6 years though

128ti looks good in this colour I think
    Lot better than the white.

And the dealers will tell you it's not worth much more than a bog standard one.

Surely a car with that many extras would have been a customer order from the factory? Cannot imagine a dealer specing that car with the intention of buying it into stock or is it a case of another car they have to buy from BMW Ireland as a condition of the franchise?

I would guess they have to take cars like this as a condition of the franchise. They drop value like a ton of bricks The 520d touring I had retailed just over 80k new with all the bits it had. I bought it at 9 months old with 1500 kms on it for 52k.

That actually looks ok, a lot better without the red accents found on some of the colours.

BMW have removed Harman kardon sound from the tech packs in the configurators. Apparently hit by the chip shortages they are reserving what they have for the m models.
I see on U.K. forums people are cancelling due to this and other spec changes. Standard speakers system in Bmw generally is poor.
