Me too. Can’t say anything yet. Will reveal later. After the votes.

My source in Rotterdam says major popular vote for Italy wins it for them.

Lads they have to figure out a weighting system that doesn't stick the knife in like that. Like theres no way in hell the UK and the others got zero phone votes at all from anyone. Brits in Ireland would have phoned, no question.

If you get the lowest volume you should get maybe 20, 30 and up to say 400 for the highest public popularity. Zero is just sadistic.

It’s obvious that the UK etc got public votes but statistically when factored back into the scoring they were less than 1. Notable difference between jury and public on many votes, Lithuania got little from juries and jumped way up the board with the public vote.

Is it not that they just weren't in the top 10 of any countries public vote?

UK get no points from anywhere yet get automatic entry next year

Germans get 3 points from 'professional' juries and get automatic entry next year

Spain get 6 points and yet get automatic entry next year

There's a simple solution but the countries will hate it

End auto qualification for everyone but the previous winners, make every single country have to earn their place in the final

And raise the tv license to pay for it of course :)

The way they announce it is a bit cruel but the points make sense.

To get any televote points you have to come Top 10 in at least one country's vote. I'm not remotely surprised that the UK didn't, it just wasn't anywhere near the quality of the other songs.

The top 5 countries have automatic qualification because they pay the lions share of the bill. Youre idea is brilliant. Cut off the sourse of the money, and next year we don't have a Eurovision. Terrific idea. Well done.

That voting system was torturous to watch. I don’t enjoy seeing people’s hopes built up only to be dashed.

The poor young one from Malta looked gutted same for Portugal

Did you miss the fact I said the countries would hate it?

If everyone pays a little more, then there's no issue really.

That being said the UK, Germany and Spain getting spanked year on year is rather enjoyable so no skin off my nose :D

    In fairness, James deserved better.

Italy was nowhere near the best song...my heart still lies with the Ukraine.

Won a €1.50 profit from Switzerland coming 3rd so small victory for me :o

Sickened for UK but fair play to him for being such a good sport about it.

Absolutely love the voting set up. Nail biting to the end.

Was gutted for Switzerland but was really happy for Italy.

My fiance hated Ukraine and was shook when the public vote bumped them up.

Nearly as surprised as Flo Rida was about San Marino

Overall an epic night full of surprises.

    Until next year in Rome!

I won a tenner from them coming third, basically getting back what I put on

We may have come last in our semi but we got 20 times more votes than the UK

Both uk and Ireland gave 12 to Lithuania

Germany got 3 points and 0 from the popular vote.

Ehh yeah that's my point - they got something from a couple of countries despite being brutal while the UK got nothing.

So did anyone else love seeing the crushing disappointment on the faces of the performers as the votes were being read out or am I just a bad person?

Thought Switzerland were the dark horse to take it but good to see a good old fashioned rock n roll take its place. Was never sold on the French one. It was so, French

The cameras on the artists when the public vote is read out was gas

Germany second last and UK last was expected although 0 points was a pretty funny

Good, she was ****e. Hate all that big sassy bitch music. Sure someone did it a couple of years ago so she was too late to the party.

I'm repeatedly watching the Swiss lad getting his cough softened. Fabulous TV.

Whats more likely? Getting countries especially poorer ones to pay more money or them saying, "no we wont do it this year".

The Commitments are on RTE One.

Thought that was a thoroughly entertaining Eurovision myself.

One of my biggest takeaways is that I need to get the BBC for next year. Marty is the drizzling ****s and seems to do his best to spoil the night with his drivel.

Sure just get the freeview box and dish, one-off cost all the bbc,s and itv,s and a load of other channels
