Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

"Room to Improve": The Late Late Show - Friday 21st May 2021.

Apologies for the Late Late Late thread, my friends.

    Dermot Bannon!
On a jam-packed penultimate Late Late Show of the season, Room to Improve architect Dermot Bannon joins Ryan Tubridy to discuss his new upcoming series focussing on small homes.

Tubridy gets to expound upon the game he knows so well-no folks, it's not Oncology!

On a serious note, CJ will be missed o>
After nine years of playing professional rugby in Ireland, CJ Stander announced he was departing Irish shores with 51 Irish caps, including two wins against the All Blacks, a Grand Slam, a British and Irish Lions tour, as well as his star performances for Munster.

But before he departs, CJ joins Ryan to say goodbye.

The pseudo-misery slot is drawn from within tonight, as Gaybo's two daughters are on to tell us how he died.
They will reveal what their relationship with their dad was like and how they have all been coping since his death in November 2019.

Some young lad from the Toy Show has a song out.

And two MORE misery slots,...sick kids...MS...

El Mouldo Mr. Fun does it again!

If the Late Late Show was a person it would actualy end up as a guest on itself due to the fact it clearly is in terminal decline and should be in palatative care itself. Its the sickest one of all.

They've clearly stopped even trying with 2 weeks to go, already talking about next season for some reason, interviewing the same staff yet again and as far as I know not even relasing the guest line up mid week as I assume they know themselves it is so pathetic? Still the wages will be paid regardless of the shameful program put forth. It's been a terrible week generally and this is what we get? What happened the positive shows post McGuigan?

and the song is about his Dad passing away, so the tragic angle will be taken there too.

A nice kid though - the lad who sung with Dermot Kennedy on the Toy Show.

A lovely lad indeed, and I hope he does very well in spite of or because of Tubridy's kickstart on the sad angle of his life.

"The inspiring couple Jamie and Georgie Crawford will discuss overcoming adversity after multiple sclerosis (MS) and breast cancer diagnoses.

In a year when lockdown gave people a very small taste of what daily life is like for carers of vulnerable people, Ryan will talk with two mothers, Katie Healy-Nolan and Nina Fitzpatrick, who care full-time for children with disabilities."

With all due respect to the persons involved above, Tubridy, Duffy & RTE can just FCUK OFF with their relentless gorging appetite for inflicting death, disease and misery on the airwaves of Ireland.

    ENOUGH!

The only housing crisis he knows about is the one where he makes clients overpay by 100's of thousand.

Dermot Bannon and Ryan Tubridy...2 of the most odious self indulgent cretins we have ever had to suffer....

Im not sure who I dislike more....at least Bannon isnt stealing 500k a year from the Irish public....

Here we go, more waffle. If only there were other countries in the EU with no problems with housing that we could simply copy exactly, if only.

I gave up on the Late Late quite a while ago. Having just watched the first 5 minutes or so, it's even worse than I ever remember...toe curlingly cringey.

Since when did this clown, with a monopoly on extorting huge sums from people in posh areas and making Rte shows about it, become an expert on social housing?

It's like having somebody with a journalism degree as minister of health. I wouldn't trust Bannon with a kennel.

    Housing a constitutional right....

Yeah, sure why would anyone bother paying a mortgage then?!

    Absolute populist nonsense.

Edit: I was happy out watching Heat when my wife said “throw on the Late Late and we’ll see who’s on”. This interview has ruined my good mood.

Enjoy watching his “tv shows” but wouldn’t be too keen to go for a pint with him. I’ve met his brother a few times, he’s good craic now. A good laugh and not as much of a weener as Dermot.

Dermot Bannon can't even complete a project on the required budget of which he's supposed to be an expert and he's here giving us the answer to rising house prices?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,732 ✭✭✭wandererz

I asked him about renovating an apartment once.
    Couldn't provide any advice.

    Out of his depth.

Obviously no money in it for him.
