    Bit of a pain in the hole to get a man in every year.

    There are plenty other hedging plants that form a nice easily trimmmed barrier. You can easily lace them with thorny stuff to deter ne'er-do-wells.

    Ah here, Japanese Maples are beautiful. I have one.


    Mine was undermining the walls of the cottage.
    Cut down the and stump drilled and filled with Grow-more.
    The other one was sufficiently far away it wasn't causing a problem.
