Sigh, my birthday is on Saturday and all -would have been nice to have Ireland in the final….but then again maybe not, cos we would prob end up bottom of the table!

When you have 10 out of 16 countries qualifying and Ireland have only qualified once in the last 6 years, it is time to give up

    We didn't deserve to qualify

Marty's delusions are as hilarious as ever

Ireland didn't deserve to go through. Awful effort.

Poor staging but it was an almost impossible ask to qualify considering which countries could vote tonight, Eastern Bloc.

Sweden and Norway are the outliers in that top ten
Ultimately glad the Aussies were turfed out, do not like overbearing activist chanteueses ;-)

I'm off to download as many mixes of the Ukrainian song as possible

I think most people would have predicted 60% of the qualifiers and 80% would have predicted we wouldn't go through. Its not rocket science - a strong voice, classy staging, a song with character and some novelty. Its not that we can't write songs (see multiple successful Irish artists) but the problem is whoever is selecting them.

Really disappointed for Croatia. I would have dropped Sweden or Norway to make way for them.

Glad for Belgium. Australia qualfying streak is gone.

Disappointed for Lesley, but the performance was poor, I was expecting them to perform again. The delay did her no favours.

Surprised at Norway but it was a catchy song. Wishing it was Thursday tomorrow. Great show!

If the song and staging was good enough we would have qualified simple as.

Marty sneering at the Ukraine entry there at the end just sums him up

Time he was put out to pasture

Who does pick the Eurovision act for Ireland as a matter of interest? I have to agree, ours is always so tame compared to other entrants.

Even Jedward have nothing on some of the zanier acts that always, always qualify.
