I'm sorry. I have a pathological dislike for The Pet Shop Boys.

I think it is because they remind me too much of the 80s and they kept "Fairytale of New York" off the Christmas No. 1 spot.

I wouldn't have known, but then I don't really keep track of charts.

I sure could name a lot more PSB songs than Pogues ones though. Fairytale is honestly the only one I know of.

Edit: the only "who kept what off the number 1 spot" question that I'd know off the top of my head is Vienna/Shuddup Your Face.
