Dion has a tendency to waffle a bit but i'm usually in agreement with what he's saying...it's just the way he's saying it drags on a bit at times. The football spin podcast was good before it vanished

Himself and Paddy have left Joe which would explain it vanishing. It was a good alternative pod to the usuals. It could be very funny at times.

I always see Dion and a budget Ken.

    Found it hard going!

Dion employs a stream of consciousness method on podcasts in a desperate attempt to find an original hot take.... instead of just answering the bloody question.

Bit of a bromance brewing between Early and Lineker.

Really nice interview with Charlotte Budd, came across very well and allowed to speak.
Eoin is excellent at putting new guests at ease, giving them space and getting their story.

The lads have always been great, but the podcast seems more fun than usual lately. Don't know why.

Love his accents. Nothing will beat Coleman though!

His Coleman was like a harsh Belfast accent, he has a much softer accent than that.

'Don't want to get into a war of words' was spot on though, and that demented Bill Shankly impression was one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

I usually like Dion but I thought he was awful the other day. He was acting like Moyes and Rodgers deserve 0 credit at all for their results and aren't doing great jobs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,435 ✭✭✭Beersmith

Dion long winded point about rogers having an article put out about him when he is doing well is ridiculous. I mean the media always publish articles about success stories.

Agreed. I don't like the sneery attitude of some journalists towards managers that they have made a definitive opinion on.

I think Jonathan Wilson said the other week wait until next year to see how Moyes gets on

If you wait long enough 99% of all managers fail in the end!

Enjoyed the chat with Roddy today. Fairly harsh on Stephen Kenny

I still can't get over how perfect the editing is on the Chelsea mixed with the Black Rob track audiobed

I know there's a Spotify playlist for all the audiobed original track but is there a playlist for the actual beds themselves?

You probably know about the extras soundcloud page that has a good few:
    https://soundcloud.com/secondcaptainsextras

But loads are missing. And there's nothing on Spotify, you can't upload clips there

I'm waiting for them to upload the Liverpool one, it hits a bit even though I'm not a Pool fan.

After hearing from Roddy for the first time in years, I threw on the Rod Squad documentary on his time with Carlisle. It’s as good as I remember.

Watched the Lance Armstrong documentaries on the RTE Player, and listened back to the review Ken did last summer, and it was hilarious, he can be a bit boring and repetitive when focusng on soccer, but get him to talk about someone like Lance and it's gold.

His response to the Twitter abuse he was getting was funny.

Very harsh on Stephen Kenny. He must have been listening to Dion Fanning.

Stephen Kenny had f*ck all at Dundalk. The club was close to going down the drain. He took over and built a squad out of players that were not wanted at other clubs and got them to the group stages of the Europa League. Saying that teams underestimated them and that's the reason they got into the Europa League, insanely unfair.

Think Roddy might be a bit bitter about Stephen Kenny.
