I was confused about that part. I was abroad in 2010. I thought the pubs were only legally allowed open a couple of years ago on good Friday?

I actually had to google Brian Cowen as I thought he was dead.

Turns out his mother died,he got the stroke but is still knocking around.

I hope ice fall guy is out in the Bahamas living it up with hookers and they're paying him royalties every time that clip is used.

I genuinely find it disturbing how people find that clip so amusing. That was a nasty, nasty fall. Could have been killed instantly.

2010 was a one-off for a rugby match, the permanent opening was in 2018.

I had only heard two of those songs before and one of those was the Rubber Bandits one. No idea who the other artists were. By 2010, either I had gotten old or mainstream music had become rubbish and far less important in popular culture than it used to be.

The music is critical to the impact of the programme.

Also, it seemed to me (may be wrong) that there was more "talking" in this edition. I presume that all or most of the same team produced this edition as produced the previous editions and will have tried to keep the format as consistent as possible - if possible

Another thought I had was that in the modern era of social media, smartphones, 24 hour news channels and being always on, world events might actually be less memorable than the events from the past as everyone is jumping from one thing to the next

I was watching 1982 for the gazillionth time recently - Falklands War, snow, IRA bombs, elections, GUBU, Seamus Darby and TAR-DELLI - some contrast

He wasn’t killed instantly though, that’s why it can be amusing. If he had been killed do you think it would be shown so much the way it is, or that people would find it amusing?

The ridiculous tv3 version " don' look back in anger" constantly got the music wrong, ie a year previous or after. Very frustrating

Except he didn't, did he? Hence why you can laugh.
Had the chap died of the fall I highly doubt it would be replayed and shown so much and thought of the same. But the fact we know he wasn't "killed instantly", mainly from him getting up and walking away, we can find the humour in it, which is much needed a lot of the time.

True... it still looked horrible to me to be honest. I dont think it makes me a snowflake. Im not calling for it to be banned or anything. Im just puzzled at why people find it so amusing.

Where??? That's a horrible fall. Just an honest point of view. Its ironic that the few getting hot and bothered are the people who cant accept another viewpoint and are using the term 'snowflake' liberally.

Hey snowflake, I already told you that I fell like that twice this year , the first time was in January and I was almost knocked out & in front of my work colleagues, I still have problems with my shoulder. I'm not a slowflake in the slightest but do not find that fall funny at all. He could have been seriously hurt. I'm sure this guy didn't or still wants the whole country laughing at his dangerous fall.

I just don't get why folk find it funny.
