Good to be back lads!! Had a look last night. Team in fine shape this week, only Chelsea defence missing really. Could do Cresswell to Azpi for a week but I dunno if I will wildcard next week or not. Most likely I will but I haven't had the time to properly investigate if it will be worth my while.

Son injury could influence my transfers this week.
Will he play??

No Chelsea at all, think need for a defender outweighs need for likes of Mount or Havertz.
I would be definitely going Azpi or Rudiger if I wasn’t using WC next gameweek...but as I am, I am tempted by Alonso, which could easily backfire

Mendy and then Azpilicueta are the most nailed on to start.

Everything else seems to be a lottery there although with Silva still out you’d think Rudiger and Christensen will also start.

Yeah, I think for a one week punt I’ll chance Alonso starting against WBA but next week will be doubling up, more than likely, without Alonso

Dont think I'll risk Grealish just yet but that is a nice fixture v Fulham if he plays. Would have to sell either Lingard, Mount or Raphina to get him. Have owned Mount a few weeks now anticipating a haul, hopefully WBA is the game where it happens.

Has this happened to anyone here before re: Free Hit chip and transfers:

I had 2 FT going into week 29 where I planned to use my Free Hit chip. My bench is fodder so planned on getting starters in so i can use Bench Boost in a few weeks. I made two free transfers and saved. Before the deadline I used the free hit as planned.

After the game week and before international break I checked to see who was playing for GW30 and noticed my two free transfers didn't register but thought nothing much of it and thought it just cancelled out the free transfers.

Just doing my team for tomorrow now and it's now costing me -4 if I want to make 2 transfers! The two previous free transfers are showing up in my transfer history but didn't stay in my team.

Anyone know why this happened? It's basically taken a free transfer off me as I don't suspect if you have two FT before using FH that it resets to 1 FT the following week?

Edit: Was told the last line was true

thought I was cleaver making two changes before playing the chip

Yes it's in the rules, standard.
Basically if you play a FH or wildcard you lose your free transfer,

Who to start out of Watkins / Bamford / Dias / Cresswell

Leaning towards Bamford and Cresswell, already have Gundogan starting anyway so Watkins will be first sub, Dias second.

My thinking is that if Gundo plays he has potential, if he doesn't then Watkins comes in at least....

On the other hand, I've looked at various transfers, Martinez to Mendy, Cresswell to Azpi, Son to any top premium and I can't see any justified transfer. Will mean burning a free if I wildcard next GW :O but if I've learned one thing in my first year it's if you don't think you need a transfer, then you probably don't need one.

Gundo does have potential, but also has real 1 point potential. His ceiling has got to be a bit lower with Leicester being 5th best in the league for both goals conceded and expected goals conceded aswell.

I have him benched at the expense of Watkins aswell.

Gundo played 90 minutes in all three of Germany's international games so I'd be of the mindset he'll be benched ahead of the Champions League game midweek.

I'm looking at Dunk and Gundogan out

Azpilicueta and Raphinha in for this reason.

All for a -4

Can see Gundog being benched and City assets are unattractive at the moment.

Not sure it's worth the hit though as still a risk he could play. Really want Azpi.

Thanks all, think I'm being blinded by initial points Gundo got me. Might sell him for Jota? As have no Salah at the moment. Probably wildcard next week, as next week my players have horrific fixtures and I want a piece of the Chelsea defence pie.

If you’re bench boosting then Gundogan and Bale would be top of the list to move on. I think neither starts.

1st option definitely, Chelsea have only conceded 2 goals in 14 matches.

They're both in and out lately and can't see that changing with the options City have.

I went from Bamford only to 3 Leeds on a wildcard in 26. Hadnt intended holding all three this long but hanging on for their fixture v Sheffield tomorrow and starting all 3. After that though they face City, Liverpool, United so will be getting off Raphina for Jota and Dallas for maybe Tierney, Arsenals fixtures turn nicely after this weekend.

Will be interesting next season to see what the Leeds lads are priced at. Right now theyre a bargain considering the points theyve delivered.

I was going to bring in Alonso for a one week punt before WC next week (and then get Azpi instead) but could just do Azpi this evening to save the 0.1 instead. Slightly dents the excitement of the Chelsea game this week then!

I’d bench Struijk too I think.
I played Meslier over Martinez last week but it’s hard to have too much faith in a Leeds clean sheet against anyone.
Think Rudiger has to start for you.
I have Cresswell and Dias, starting Cresswell, solely due to more chance of attacking points imo.

Grealish if he's ready to start. Cancelo who knows if he even plays? Odegaard is unpredictable and I haven't seen enough of him to make judgement.

Dead ended into last week with the intention of wildcarding but fixtures are pretty good. If I still had BB I might have used it.

So deferring it to the following week I'll get either Alonso or Azpi in. Early team news would be great for this decision it being the first game.
