Time to get tough on these especially as others will surely follow if they are let go.

Haha, go on the quarantine 3!
It's a great laugh isn't it....FFS...sure who wants to get out of the lockdown in Ireland...

Feck all will happen to them probably. But locking them up for a month will send the right message.
Australia itself has seriously cracked down on people who break quarantine...as in 6 months in prison

It is a laugh - if it wasn’t so tragically stupid and ridiculous. What an exercise in futility, not to mention how embarrassing it is for the country.

That family, if they had any sense, would come from Australia a different way. Surely there are ways to do Australia - Ireland without passing through the UAE, even now.

    If they had any sense...

The system was silly and a touch racist in their selection of the countries on the list.

    No United States for example.

The quarantine for these small amounts of people just seems unnecessary, cruel and racist.

If you leave Australia and travel home via Dubai, you'll have to quarantine in Ireland for a fortnight at your own expense. Ok?

    Nursey: Ok.

Are you sure now, with 3 kids? You could book to travel another route that avoids Dubai?

    Nursey. No, its fine.

Right, well, you'll be met at the airport and brought to a designated hotel nearby, might be a bit of paperwork and faff, but you'll be escorted. Ok?

    Nursey: Ok

Ok, this is the hotel, they're just organising connecting rooms and stuff, will be an hour or so.

    Nursey: Eh, ok.

Welcome to the Crowne Plaza at Santry, I'll show you to your home for the next few weeks. Satellite TV is in both rooms, this is the WiFi code. We'll have menu selections for three meals a day, plus snacks and arrangements for laundry etc. OK?

    Nursey: ok, thanks.

    10 minutes later....

Nursey: WHAT THE **** IS THIS ****, WE'RE NOT ****ING ASYLUM SEEKERS, WE DON'T HAVE ****ING LEPROSY, MY KIDS ARE BORED, THERES NOT ENOUGH ROOM TO SWING A DINGO IN THIS KIP. OPEN THE COURTS, OPEN THE DÁIL, PHONE THE IRISH TIMES, PHONE AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL...... LEGGITTTTT LAAAAAAADSSSSSS

So for those of you who agree that family of 5 should be in quarantine or that a PCR test is just a “snapshot in time”, here’s a tweet from an Irish consultant public health physician who has been pushing Ireland for a zero covid strategy since the start...

    RTE now reporting it too...
A search is under way after three people left the mandatory hotel quarantine at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Santry in Dublin this afternoon.

It is understood one of the three has been found, but a search for the other two people is continuing.

One returned voluntarily. 2 still on the run. One has a UK passport. The other an Irish. 3rd person not mentioned. They face a fine of up to 2 grand and/or one month in prison.
