Blue collar is another underrated classic which he starred in for anyone who hasn't seen it, probably Richard Pryors best dramatic performance.

This is entirely OT, so feel free to skip this post. Just mentioning Pryor brought back this memory. And any chance to discuss Richard Pryor is always a good one.

Lily Tomlin and Richard Pryor did a sketch called 'Juke and Opal' as part of Lily Tomlin's special, in 1973.

Tomlin played a 'racially ambiguous' woman named Opal who runs a small restaurant, and Richard played a recovering addict named Juke. The entire sketch was a very 'humanist' piece.
Pryor plays Juke brilliantly, Tomlin is sympathetic to Pryor's plight.

The final scene was an improv, the network execs wouldn't allow it. (This was the 70s, after all, and Tomlin's character's racial ambiguity possibly helped avoid a major outburst).
But the sketch was aired live. They couldn't censor it. And the audience and critical response was overwhelmingly positive.

Sad to hear about this , she was so full of energy and so passionate about cars . I used to love to see how pissed and frustrated she got with the top gear presenters when showing them how to drive certain tracks.
You could feel her passion for speed.

Awww.... I loved him in Just Shoot Me. He was such a fun comedy protagonist.

And his role in Fun with Dick and Jane was genuinely a fun movie. (The remake was a trainwreck).

Sincerest condolences to his friends and family.

    She was great.

She could do it all, with great versatility. She's absolutely chilling in Play Misty for Me.

An amazing movie from a first time director, Clint Eastwood.
