    Big time

That Sunday Businesses Post vaccination graph is now - what - 3 months old at this stage?

In fairness, I think they didn't realize staff in nursing homes needed to be vaccinated also.
Frontline HCW, I think they just used the direct employment figure from the HSE and ignored any contractors or private doctors/receptionists/dentists etc...

Eh where were deaths mentioned ? That's approx 50% of those under 65 who get sick enough to end up in hospital with covid - and your amazing conclusion is its "Nothing to get excited about"?

'Nothing to get excited about' when the covid wards fill up those who need oxygen to breathe and treatment for associated conditions like pneumonia? Ever been that sick?

And people wonder why Covid numbers are rising

But the under 65 covid patients nearly always get better and walk out of hospital, that is what hospitals are there for, to make people better, why are people still throwing their toys out of the pram about covid wards filling up and all the rest of the panic merchant stuff.

Society has moved on from the fearmongering and the government / NPHET need to change their approach, that is why covid numbers are rising.

Maybe because we also have patients who need non covid care. If a covid patient takes up a bed, that's 1 less bed for a patient with non covid needs.

Well you didn't seem to believe that in your last comment in reply to mine which was about people getting sick from covid. You said.

Glad you've apparently changed your mind.

Your misinterpreting completely what I implied. I implied your getting scare mongered and your response shows you were.
You might actually want to google scare mongering as don't think you get its proper meaning.

You went on a major rant about people breaking restrictions. Not sure how much more i can explain that.

This is what makes the 5K limit sickening. People stuck in the same 5kM rut for months on end when they could go to somewhere else (even in their own county) for a change of scenery, a different takeaway etc.

We are being oppressed by NPHET for the sake of it.

No harm sitting outside a chipper or restaurant either, even if its non alcohol premises only.

Forced to sit in our car to eat our burger and chips when there was a comfortable picnic table in front of us all taped off.

Disgusting pigs is what NPHET are.

    Once again

    NPHET advises, government decides.

You're letting the government gaslight you into thinking NPHET are the ones making the decisions here. Congratulations, you fell right into their trap.

Tifco Hotel Group will operate the State’s mandatory quarantine regime for passengers arriving in this country under an agreement which will be announced this week.

The group has earmarked the Holiday Inn Express and the Crowne Plaza Hotel near Dublin Airport to be among the initial quarantine hotels.

Four hotels will be used when the quarantining system is first introduced but the group has committed surge capacity in their other hotels. How many hotels are used will depend on demand.

Every person in a serious car accident takes a bed too, maybe reduce the speed limit to 30KPH to free up beds.

There are loads of other ways to free up beds too.

The point I think you are critically missing - is that people get sick enough to end up in Hospital and require specialist care.

That's people away from work, parents away from children and even those with underlying conditions including youngsters who risk not walking out of hospital.

And for every very ill people having to be admitted to hospital - it puts further pressure on a health system struggling to cope.

Hospitals were not built to cope with pandemics.

The only real fear mongering going on is those who claim its all some big conspiracy. And the reason numbers are rising are those who think they know better than the experts.

Me thinks that really needs to be updated.
    1. is nearly 107k so far.
    2. 202k and growing.

Obviously that will make other groups potentially smaller though.

Anyone know the composition of the "Other Key Workers" Group?

It's ok, the person in the car accident won't transmit his injuries to any other patients or staff in the hospital, and they won't in turn transmit it to their friends and families etc...
Don't think we've ever had over 200 admissions for car accidents in a single day in this country. But feel free to correct me.
If we ever did, then yes, road safety would certainly have to be looked at, even more so if these car accident are highly transmissible.

Anyone know the composition of the "Other Key Workers" Group?

Key workers in group 6 or 10?
Group 6: Obviously those involved in the vaccine program.
Group 10: They include workers in the food supply system, public and commercial transport and other vital services.

A family member of mine recently booked a holiday to Lanzarote from Dublin and drove from Cork to Dublin, spent a week there and then returned to Cork. (We are all furious with said person). However, she was not stopped once at a checkpoint either way and did not get a single fine.

Then last week I drove from Cork City to Fermoy to deliver crucial meds to my aunt (diabetic, doesn't drive) and was stopped by a Garda who absolutely smashed the ears off me and handed me a nice fine.

It's this type of stuff makes me wonder.

What happened the Guards fining people for 500 euro at Dublin airport?

As somebody said earlier, government decide, are they more expert than the rest of us on dealing with a pandemic, Comical Donnelly, Economic crash Martin, you seriously look up to them as experts?

Leaving construction closed is a fail.

Constraining people to 5K is a fail.

Guards harassing people is a fail.

Not allowing a few people sit outside a coffee shop is a fail.

Maybe cases are rising because these "experts" you refer to in government have made a balls of it?

    I'm not you know.

This was my comment in reply to a poster who was advocating people meeting up and that people shouldn't bother to get tested and your bizarre reply

So let me get this right. You forgo the old social distancing and meet up with a load of the mates. Couple days after you start to feel ill and with the nature of this virus - there's a chance you could end needing at least some medical attention.

But ya go fuk it - 'I'm not going to get tested cos I is hard - and if I give it to someone else fek them as well' Wow.

I see the oul scare mongering from the media has gotten to you.

    Nope.

No rant there about 'people breaking restrictions". Simply a comment about people who get sick and posters advocating they shouldn't get tested.

And btw this is the definition of "scaremongering".
the spreading of frightening or ominous reports or rumours.

So which "rumours" are you accusing me of exactly?

Maybe a good idea to invest in a good dictionary

Did you have a prescription on you, a copy ? If you did that’s harsh, if not, I’d expect him to fine and read the riot act...

I could drive 10kms for ****s and giggles and get stopped... ‘ just delivering meds ‘ ..

He gave me a long spiel of ''DO YOU REALISE HOW MANY LIES WE'RE TOLD ON THE DAILY BASIS, HAVING TO STAND OUT HERE ALL DAY LONG STOPPING FELLAS LIKE YOU.''

Group 13: People in occupations important to the functioning of society?
For example: third level institutions, entertainment and goods-producing industries who work in settings where protective measures can be followed without much difficulty.

Not really sure on the description, it's quite vague. I'd imagine as groups get closer up the list, the definition will be refined. I can't imagine the wait between group 13 and 14 will be much, if any.

Yup, being in Group 13 could be a 3 months queue jump depending on your age.
