I keep getting drawn to the Galibier bib tights, but resent the price point.
Question is - is €80 ish what I should be spending?, I'm looking at buying three pairs, so it is a lot of money.
I'm glad to see seth brundles review of them, but is there better at that price point, or am I thinking too much about it all?

The DHB stuff from wiggle can be got for about €50-70 and is very decent.

On amazon a brand called my kilometre is 10% off at the moment. Picked them up for about 44 or so pound, done a 40km ride in them and they feel great. I've only ever bought the souke brand stuff on amazon and the quality is much better than them. Also helps that doesn't feel like a massive nappy on my arse anymore.

Most of my gear is Galibier and has stood the test of time. I cycle 5-6 times a week and while some of my bib shorts/tights are approaching 6 years old now, they're all in good shape, no rips, tears or flattened chamois. Price is quite reasonable compared to "named" brands like Castelli, Assos etc. I have one pair of DHB and while they're "ok", the Galibier gear is better quality and true to size.

If you're unsure, buy one of each, ie Galibier and DHB and compare them yourself.

    cheers

I know this thread is not short of Galibier fans - but here's my first experience of them:

Order made at 10pm on Sunday night, just over an hour later I received an email confirming my order had been completed and dispatched (11pm on Sunday!!). Order received by standard post (i.e. no charge) today, Tuesday 3pm.

I bought a Zoncolan Gilet and a pair of Ardennes shades.

I'm looking forward to trying them out (they look and feel good), but order fulfilment is superb!

I love Galibier but can't warm to those Ardennes shades.
Might be the shape of my head.

Know a guy with that gilet, loves it.

And yeah they are incredibly responsive to orders and queries

I find the Ardennes shades great. I ordered the low-light ones but they shipped me the wrong ones, so they sent the second pair in exchange for a charity donation (return postage would have been half of the overall cost almost)

Yeah i really think it's the shape of my head.
The shades are against my forehead, so sweat runs down them inside and out.
Need to stop and clean them every now and again depending on the heat of the day.

Reckon if the nose was adjustable and "sticky" they'd suit me perfectly.
I do have a narrow head. Have struggled to find a pair to suit me.

I bought a pair of tifosi photochromatic shades last year and love them. The arms are adjustable as is the nose piece. The lens work well and are clear. Haven’t had them in the bright sunshine to test the transition rate fully but very pleased with them. Bought from merlin last year (pre brexit)

Anyone ever try the neoprocycling crowd?

I refuse to pay for premium cycling kit so happy with you get what you pay for once material and fit is decent...

I'm a big Galibier fan but I don't find their jerseys anything special for the price - although I only have one. For similar money you can get Rapha or Castelli on sale, I also find the more expensive Decathlon ranges to be better

Last couple of jerseys I got from these guys

    https://sigr.cc/collections/cycling-jerseys

    Free eu shipping.
    Often have sales.

Edit: size up at least one

I’m not a big Galibier fan.

Extremely rude and condescending customer service (Female Director apparently) regarding a pair of 3/4 length bibs that were very simply badly designed. Baggy as hell around the calves and knees, riding up and over the knee.

The mesh on the straps was paper thin too, and easily torn.

Mistake I made was not to read the reviews first. It may be an “Irish” company but they have a long road to learning proper customer service.

Old adage is accurate.. if it’s too good to be true, it’s probably too good to be true

€50 is on the cheap side for summer jerseys really, I’d expect good quality but not top class at that price range.

    I've found them uber professional.
Was shocked at how good they've been since I discovered them about a 18months ago

I’d like to hope I caught them on a bad day, or perhaps she was a bit KP, but I saw them bully a site review online and they also didn’t post my review of their product either.

If a product is clearly not fit for purpose, the company should offer a refund or replacement but her general attitude was that it was my fault for trying the bibs on first and then riding in them while they hiked half way up my leg...Fingers popped through the mesh too.

A pity as the pad and fit above the knee was perfect. Maybe reduced because it was an isolated poor design or batch but doesn’t excuse rudeness and sh12 customer service.

Easy to get a good rating when you simply don’t publish the mediocre...

    Hi,
    2 issues-
    1. seems like you caught them on a bad day. I wanted to replace a gilet (too small) I ordered, they sent out the replacement before receiving mine back. Others have said the same.

    2. only posting extremely positive reviews on their site. Poor form. I say many companies do this but still doesn't make it excusable.

Cheers, they do have some nice ones- I like this

will keep my eye on Rapha & Castelli for sale items as well.

The jerseys off the better brands on aliexpress arent bad spexcel santic etc.
No need to spend much on a jersey all you need is something that fits snug, keep the money for bibs.

Have to say, bar club (and boards) jersey, I don't spend on jerseys - I like my retro pro ones from China. Bibs and Jackets is where I choose to spend.

Regarding Galibier, I've definitely seen 1 and 2 star reviews on the site. Just had a quick look there, and they're high up on the list of Mistral Bibs reviews for example. Obviously in the minority as people are happy with the customer service in the main - I know (rightly or wrongly), I'm not inclined to post a bad review if I've been looked after on returns. But obviously that doesn't happen in absolutely all cases.

I've never seen the elusive Boards jersey. What's the story, are they readily available, anyone able to share a photo of one please?

I have ordered some items from Galibier. Very quick and professional to deal with and super quick to deliver. Probably one of the better companies to deal with.

Their clothing is also quite for the price you pay!

    I'd second this.
I've made three multiple-item orders with them over the past year. They each arrived promptly, with a handwritten note wishing me safe riding. Two of the three orders included an unexpected freebie.
I'd call that good customer service.

I've two of them - this is one I was wearing yesterday and literally just took in from the line...

Is it time for another jersey group buy?

I’d imagine if you message the Verge rep on-site he would look after an order for you. His username should be in the thread somewhere.

Had a browse around several sites & might treat myself to a Castelli Prologo VI Jersey or a Rapha Core jersey.

I think there is a Castelli challenge on Strava for a 25% off code.

Anyone ever bought from Siroko? They have some great designs but a. never heard of them before b. can't see any reviews or their jerseys recommended in any cycling sites c. Heard of them via Facebook ad
    https://www.siroko.com/products/california-maillot-cycling
all of which leads me to think take a wide bearth and avoid them.
    Thanks

I got a few jerseys last summer. Not too bad. Though the zip split on one the wife’s. so I guess you get what you pay for.

One of those sites that always has a sale.
