I believe there were at least 75 million anti-vax, flat earth, anti-abortion, puppy killing, far right, white supremacist, Trump voters out protesting today.

    So zero?

Would that be an accurate reflection of the amount of people who turned out to protest?

Are you on about Ireland again? So the lead story about Brazils health service / intensive care units in hospitals in danger of running out of capacity, could never happen here? Are you sure about that?

no I'm on about you saying that we could wind up in the same position as them is nearly as ridiculous as your claims about the uk and nigerias obesity rate

Went down to the beach earlier, jam packed. So, let me get this straight, unorganised gatherings allowed but organised ones not allowed - right?

"No"? What are you on about?

Exactly where was it said "we could wind up in the same position as them"

I clearly referred above to the issue of Brazils health service / intensive care units in hospitals in danger of running out of capacity,

The 100 cases which are patients, where did they contract the virus so. Why is everything cryptic with you, if I made a mistake just spell it out.

There's nothing cryptic there at all.

The 100 + 64 cases are cases, there's nothing there to suggest they were all hospitalised.

Your version of 'out of control' is 164 out of 7,064 cases.

It even give you the percentages. 2.33% of cases had a likely transmission source of healthcare setting (1.42% and 0.91%).

D-minus, you must try harder. There's potential there but needs more application ;)

16 people managed to get arrested anyway. Given the generally low turn out thats surprisingly high rate of arrests.

What you mean like Brazil?

There was just a post about how Brazil, a total **** show, no restrictions, president doesn't give a **** and their hospitals are at 80% capacity. We could only dream of that.

100 people caught the disease in a healthcare setting. We had 414 admitted to hospital. Why are you referencing total cases. I have spelt out several times I am only talking about hospital cases but your continuing with total cases. Can you stop referring total cases like a good lad.

I work in the HSE (pharmacy specifically). They have made a hames of it. Roll out is about 6 weeks behind what it should be!

That's a supply issue, not a roll out issue.

So you were at this supposedly"jam packed beach" yourself and then complaining about others doing exactly the same as you? Right so.......

Unfortunately they are one and the same. They have done well with the vaccines they've recieved but we are starting to get into complicated territory as they seem to have made it far more complex than needed.

Supply is a real problem and probably will be for another months at least, however, the government did sign up for the collective bargaining with the EC. So they have to accept some responsibility for the shïtshow that's turned in to. Hindsight is always 20:20 and we are better off in than out. However, With millions of people's lives indefinitely on hold it really isn't good enough to say just keep blaming others.

Struggling to see why the table referring to TOTAL CASES is confusing you niallo27.

It certainly not confirming what you think and I've genuinely no idea how else to explain it to you.

At the risk of being off topic. Why the fvck are the major channels covering historic atrocities .

Like for fecks sake it's paddy's day.

Between the drink and our historic stories will turn people sad.

Ok ill dumb it down as best I can, 100 people contracted the virus in a healthcare environment. Now a healthcare environment is a hospital, still with me. How many of these people do you think we're already in hospital when they got the virus or do you think 100 people were just roaming around hospitals. The clue is in the data. Patient, it says 100 patients.

it's a roll out issue when the government make the bat**** harebrained decision to suspend the astrazeneca vaccine for absolutely no reason completely ignoring the experts at the ema and WHO. anyone who claims the government are 'following the science' in their covid policies is kidding themselves after the events of the past few days

Quite disappointing numbers given the hype on here that everyone was fed up, had had enough and were not going to take it anymore.

    Ahhh there's why you're confused.

    You're under the mistaken impression that Hospitals are the only 'healthcare setting';

Acute Hospital, Nursing Home, Community services, Community Hospital/LSU, Centre for disabilities, GP surgery, Mental Health Facility, Hospice, Homeless - hub/hostel/hotel, Other HCW place of work.

to be fair ireland's never had the same protest and mass demonstration culture as the likes of britain france and italy. irish people are fairly passive almost to their detriment

To be fair, surely you expected more would be out in force? I mean, given the talk on here for weeks that everyone has woke up and we will see that in demonstrations.

Yet again it appears people are going to ride this out and not jeopardise rising numbers again, because we all know what that will mean

to be honest I've never discussed the demonstrations or given them much thought so i had absolutely no expectations for them. anyway the government did everything they could to discourage people from attending

Cycled through malahide earlier , place was jammed was nearly like a festival between the park and the green area in front of the marina .
Everybody chilling having a few drinks , no hassle or messing . Then cycled past the park on way back and loads leaving at same time , must have been some meet up . Mainly late teens and 20s . Fair play to them . They clearly have had enough . You can’t lock young people up .
I then saw 2 guards on bikes up the road . They didn’t seem to give a dam either. Probably sick of it at this stage

I’d say Nephet and the Governments worst nightmare was a sunny day on St Patrick’s day ...

No no, nothing of the sort.

The real reason is much much worse for society

The right to assemble is now postponed and the government is flexing its power via its police force to prevent people protesting the prolonged removal of democracy and fundamental rights.

Between NPHET and the government they failed to protect the vulnerable in Ireland and still managed to implement the longest community mitigation measures of all countries across the globe and people have no option to show their concern at the ineptitude.

The precedent is set, and frustratingly many of ye cheered it on and allowed the government to blame us for their failures.

The government have offered no way out of the lockdown, just more of the same. A lot of people have given up at this stage.
