    That’s odd.

It looks like the steering wheel and gaitor at stitched in the same colour. Hardly offered Marrakesh in the first of the Mk7?

IIRC they actually did, on the Highline trims. Think it was only available in certain markets too, Ireland had it but not the UK.

    Edit: Found an example https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/index.php?threads/marrakesh-leather-new-black-golf.333253/

Yeah I know it was on the Highlines alright, it was in the E-40 as well, but it wasn’t on the steering wheel or gear gaitor on those

Ah, from looking at the pictures I say that stitching is actually the standard red. It's just hard to tell it apart from the seat colour due to the low resolution and the sunlight on the seats.

There’s no heated seats on it. Leather always meant heated seats are included, even on previous generations. It’s aftermarket or some secondhand seats.

What is the average cost of a minor and major service in a VW dealer for a Mk7 R?

I typically use independent specialists to service my cars but it thinking it might be advantageous to the value of my Golf R to continue to maintain VW dealer service as its a 2016 car with only 39k KM.

The internet stalking machine popped this ad for the VW Service plans into my web browser and it tells me that it would be €550 for 2 services (1 minor & 1 Major) or €725 for 3. It works out at between €15-€20 per month. Its non refundable and non transferrable which is off-putting for me as I might not do the mileage and I tend to only keep cars 1-2 years before moving them on. Also, it does not mention Haldex or DSG servicing on the included or excluded list.

Has anyone any experience with this offer?

I priced a main dealer for a major service recently and it was €389.

That sounds very pricey. What's included in that?

Got my R serviced last week in a VW main dealer for €265 incl new wipers front and back. It was it's 3rd service so just the usual oil change and inspection.

I thought the same. Oil, oil filter, plugs, cabin filter. I don't need an air filter as I have a uprated panel filter.

About €100-150 more than a good indy mechanic using oem parts.

Same engine but I had a major service on the Cupra the other week for 279 from a main dealer. With brake fluid and wipers done it was 360.

You can get a carbon filter for €20 and do it yourself in 5 minutes. They charge €59 for a cabin filter replacement if I remember correctly, not sure what the cost of the OEM part is but I'd put it up there with wipers as things people should just do themselves, save the rest for petrol money!

Yes, they have a much thicker pile and are more comfortable under foot. Fitment is 100% as you'd expect.

    Just ordered a set. Couldn't resist. :D

Can't imagine this hanging around for too long.

It is literally the exact spec I wanted before - but I haven't even tried to sell my own car yet. Also with my driving starting to increase again I think I'll be staying in the diesel-brigade :(

Also with full leather, sunroof, lapiz blue & 30k kms on the clock - from what I can remember.

Re the images, I guess you could call it a real head turner :pac:

You're right! I didn't have to go too far back on their Instagram, seems they sold it in July.

2 white golf R and a white Leon Cupra in Liffey Valley Tesco this evening (about 745pm when I walked by) parked pretty much beside each other. No photo cause my battery was too low.

    Anyone on here?

Also was an audi rs3 doing a pull out of the car park too. 5 pot noise was amazing echoing around.

Just spotted the 300PS Leon on the pricelist on the Cupra website. It's €54.5k base price. That's more expensive than the Clubsport GTI and it's also dearer to tax. That being said, I didn't compare specs.

I can't see it selling well compared to the Clubsport due to it being dearer to tax, more expensive to buy and the pre-concevieved residual values after 3 to 4 years.
