How do I insert a rolls eyes emoji?

and then come up with some ridiculous narrative to dismiss your whole argument 'ah sure you're not being shot at' 'what would you have done during ww2 ra ra ra'

Time and time they keep dropping these miserable leaks when we are not even near the next review yet.
The French population have the right idea when it comes to their government. Martin and varadkar should be given a serious message by the people in some form now. They have truly lost the plot with their concept of governance. This could descend into chaos very quickly. Depression levels are through the roof across the country. For Christ sake, large areas have 0-5 cases for weeks.

Factual answer only please - not looking for opinions on my decision...

When I decide (once the weather improves) to say bo77ocks to the 5km 'rule' and take my mentally drained self, and my wife & dogs, outside the ridiculous 5km limit... to visit a beach or just take in a scenic drive (we have a small camper - so won't be in contact with another sinner really)...

Apart from fines - can I be arrested or have my van taken off me?

    Because I've had enough.

Unless you cause an absolute scene really the most you can expect is a fine. When/if the guards stop you just don't be a nutjob and either have an excuse ready or expect to be asked to turn around. If you don't turn around (or if you just take a back road) and are stopped another time expect a fine.

I have actually read this on the gov.ie list of restrictions...

    "to visit a grave"

Not a grave of a loved one...

    Not a grave of a parent/child/partner...

    Just a grave

Will quote this and see how I go.

This waiting on vaccination **** is such a ****ing joke now

    It's insane reading

5 million people here in Irealnd

1 million can't get the vaccine ( kids, pregnant women, allergy people )

1 million will refuse the vaccine ( 80% uptake is what polls are showing )

225 thousand have already had Covid and re-infection is miniscule, 500,000 have had first doses

That's nearly 3 million people out of 5 million that are either not eligible for the vaccine, won't get it or have some protection the virus

Plus one here who will get the vaccine just for the herd, but actually doesn’t care one way or the other and would like to start to open up now regardless.

Nothing will happen. You most likely will not see any checkpoints. If you see one tell them your head is wrecked and your going for a drive. They will turn you around and that will be it.

I enjoyed a lovely coffee sitting inside a cafe today, customers all around me...must say I forgot how much I miss the simple pleasure of just relaxing in good company in a nice cafe.

From the most recently leaked conversations (if true- I am sure he'll sue if they are incorrect) Gerry Killeen sounds like a lovely man.

“A set up with a rigged presenter”

That doesn’t sound very scientific does it?

After today's announcement, I am starting to wonder if there is some sort of 'Zero Covid' strategy being attempted that we have not been told about.

Nah. That means actually making a decision.

Our muppets are working on the principle "do nothing it's the easiest option."

There won't be any significant easing until enough people are vaccinated and it's seen to work on hospitals/ICUs i'm afraid

It's been like groundhog day for the last 12 months on this thread! Same arguments day after day yet nothing ever changes

And it's like that because the firm majority of the public continue to support required restrictions in poll after poll which is very positive inc the most recent Claire Byrne Live poll.

The main thing is we are on the right path to where we don't need to do this again. :)

The firm majority have been pumped with never ending hysteria about how dangerous this virus is....

If we pumped the public with a belief that the Government should give every one in the State €10,000 the majority would support it....means little unless the consequences of the act are understood.

It won't be seen to work on hospitalizations until the next surge, next winter.

Unluckily Ireland appears to have got a more dangerous version of Covid than the rest of the globe did.

Very unfortunate for such a young nation

Cool so we should go to level 6 until then. And if the vaccines don't work as planned, lock down forever and borrow €20 billion a year off the EU. What an amazing plan, have you thought about formalizing it and sending on to your local TD?

Remind us did you say similar at the end of 'lockdown v2'?

Claire Byrne is discredited and debunked media - please post only primary sources that have been peer verified. Did I do it right?

What some want is far worse than present. It would, in my view, lead to another lockdown in short order undoing the good work and that would see out the year.

Why would we do that when people are being vaccinated, cases are falling, hospitals are getting better and deaths declining?

Makes no sense to take that risk.

You're really oblivious to the social and economic consequences of lockdown for months and months on end. Really and truly oblivious.

"What's a few more months of lockdown? Everything's going great!"

It's like you're being paid a salary to not utilize brain power.
