    They done well though.
    They were quick too.

Think I remember seeing an unmarked Subaru knocking around Longford years ago...is there any pics of the Alfa? What Model was it?

White unmarked Subaru Forester used make an appearance down here in west every so often. Particularly around the Sligo area.

Be near 10 years ago at this stage though.

    2005 Subaru Forester.

    They worked a hard life.

Ambulance sector bought them too and there are still a few but around 2013 or so models now.

They were a very quick machine but like anything of their type they were top heavy so had to be driven with caution.

Suppose we are going that way again with Tucson and Kona just with a lot less power.

The blue Forester used to be a regular on the M1 around Swords. It used its blending in power to catch many a speeder.

Navy and wine foresters use to be up the around the airport loads. I had one myself, the 2.5XT version... absolute monster power. Think the AGS ones were 2.0XT's.

We have fiat vans, ford too.

They would use anyone for the cheapest bid.

Although some special buys were done on tender for Skoda.

2014 Opel got a contract for mostly traffic units. Insignias

A disaster of a car. Not a hope of getting an adult in the back seat. (unless they are under 5'2)

Insignia A rear seat? Always had to move drivers seat if anyone sat behind me. 😡. Vectra C estates had 5" more in the back seat than the saloons

Do you think the tech guys get strobe jealousy when they see the way other police forces kit their cars with some very clever positioning of the lights? :)

The Jeep Cherokees were an end of line before the new model was released. I was working for a company that used 4 of the smaller engine and they were a ball of ****e. Like a chocolate hippo on skates in the wet!

Didn't a fire service in Ireland get one, only for there to be some difficulty around certificate of conformity, driving permits or similar?

Yeah, Cork City had a couple of Ford F250s converted about 15 years ago. Conversion to RHD was poorly executed iirc, not very reliable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,450 ✭✭✭CharlieCroker

Edit, it was actually Cork County FB and they were F350's.

That's mad never knew they bought those here.

I know there are a few used for the Dublin parking services (clampers) but they left them left hand drive.

I've noticed a few times that the Aussie police using tip tronic mode when on blues like in that video and in others. Maybe the ZF box in those Falcons hasn't got a sport mode which would be the better option I'd assume.

Are the 2.0l Tuscons over here manual or autos ?

All standard vehicles are manual. Automatic is another course I believe.

Would love to see an i40 estate go flat out.

    Anyone hazard a top speed?

Great radio commentary of the chase between the cars. Very calm, clear and concise description and narration of the chase. How does that compare to AGS commentary, say for example on the M50 chase last week, would it be similar?

Put it this way, they wouldn't have even seen or caught that car at all.....

Even an S3 golf R etc would leave them like they were going the opposite direction.

The most I seen it go was 180kmh...and it struggled to get there and was a very quiet on the N11

Didn’t realise those mazdas were that quick and with a boot full of tools!

Love the commentary about the marked unit taking the lead and then the unmarked unit having to take over because the bmw was maxed out at 155 and couldn’t catch them

There's another episode of Traffic Cops or Interceptors with Derbyshire RCU. They have a Cupra, S3, Golf R and M1. Along with the usual marked bmw's.
