The whole anti mask thing isn't a great look. I suppose some Republican's consider it an infringement on their personal freedom.

    yeah but they're idiots.

Selfish idiots. Pity Biden was so polite.

You know if Trump used those same words it would be misrepresented as some racial slur.

What Biden intended to do was call Republicans stupid. Perpetuating a stereotype because he knows it pleases his supporters.

    Racist against who though?

My point is basically that anything Trump did or said was spun into something negative by the media. Biden gets a pass. No hard questions. No misrepresentation.

That's because Trump used to say idiotic/negative things on a daily basis! Nothing was "spun"! There was no need to spin anything, all they had to do was quote his exact words.

    Is it racist or not?

Do you really believe that ?
CNN, MSNBC and most of the MSM had a strong bias against Trump.
They didnt even try to conceal it in 2020, everything was given a negative spin.

Just like Fox News look for a way to spin the agenda one way, the likes of CNN, MSNBC, Washington Post and NY Times spin it the other way.
The first casualty of War is truth.

Erm, the clips of Trump's nonsensical ramblings are widely available in full and without commentary.

You can say that again! Trump slaughtered the truth on a daily basis, what number did his four year lying spree finish on? Was over 20,000 and rising last time I checked.

Fully in context too, with wide angle shots. There was no need to spin against donny, he flatulated his way through multiple speeches and put it out for all to see, the spin was afterwards when he'd inevitably declare the full content of his own broadcast as fake news and have the stupid clapping seals lap it up.

Anyway, enough about the previous failure, onto failures new!

30,573 shown by the Goog. He was on lie-hyperdrive starting Election day.

So the last few pages seem to be if Trump had said exactly what Biden said he'd be castigated for it.

Assuming a world where Trump understood what Neanderthal meant and used it in the same context as Biden relating to the decision to end mask mandates; then I for one would have applauded him for once. It would have been one of his few comments/actions that actually bore some semblance of sense and connection to reality in dealing with the Pandemic.

Well obviously I mean criticizing Trump has been the easiest way to score virtue signalling points over last four years. I mean talk about low hanging fruit.

So people shouldn't criticise because it is so blatantly easy to do it?

I think that says more about Trump than the people criticising him.

Not sure what you mean by virtue signalling in this respect, he made so many gaffes, said so many unnecessary things, made a fool of himself and the country that I can't see how criticising such a terrible job is seen a virtue signalling.

I also think that the phrase virtue signalling is just a way to avoid having to deal with the actual issue. Its just another form of ad hominem attack

You guys are obsessed with virtue signaling. Everything you don't like, agree with, want is dismissed as 'Oh look at the snowflake virtue signaling' like people weren't able to look at him and objectively and say that that guy was way out of his depth in the job.
I mean, I know George Soros paid us all 10c for every post complaining about Trump, but even without that, we'd still have complained about him.

What's your excuse for being a fan? Were you getting 11 or 12c?

I think what people are saying is that so desperately trying to score points of a person like Trump is desperately sad. It's like bragging about beating the disabled kid in the egg and spoon race. Going with the established narrative isnt impressive.

To be fair, trump also bragged about beating a disabled person.

Biden has been doing a great job to this point. I'd never have guessed at his age that he'd have brought more vigour to the office than we've probably seen since FDR.
Pelosi is an embarrassment though, time to consign her to the back benches.

I like Pelosi, she pìsses off the true red Republicans, anything that upsets the Trump zealots is also ok in my book.

She will be 81 this month, she needs to be put out to pasture.
I'm not ageist but you need to draw the line somewhere.

Again, what does that say about Trump?

He put himself forward, he was the most powerful man in the world, but people should not criticise him because he is so monumentally bad and out of his depth it almost too easy.

That it more impressive to argue against his idioticy because its not what everyone agrees on?

She's still sharp enough to pìss off the Trump zealots, what does her age have to do with it? My uncle is 94 and still beats me at chess and I would consider myself an above average player.

She's not even the oldest member of the house, Don Young is 87 and Dianne Feinstein is 87 in Senate.... She also comfortably won her seat in 2020 so she's got public support and party support. So you picking out Pelosi just shows how much she seems to rattle you guys.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,894 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

She is a childish power hungry hypocritical egomaniac.

From tearing up Trumps speech to hogging the podium after the impeachment trial she has repeatedly displayed her petty nature.
If a teenager behaved like that they would be berated.
Herself and Trump were like 2 spoilt brats.

At 81 her energy levels would be greatly diminished.
What other country in the world would have such an old politician in such a prominent role ?

Ireland has had multiple tds that served into their mid 80s. The last one in 2011 who was nearly 86. De Valera was in his 90s and president, ceremonial but still had duties. The electorate have confidence in her and you seem to be in a bit of a strop tbh... Cause she was mean to the last guy who was incompetent?

Well thats like the pot calling the kettle black.

Trump rattled you guys for 4 years straight.

Rattled, is that some sort of mental projection that you are trying ?
Its no skin off my nose that she is in that position, I feel sorry for the electorate who have to put up with her tantrums and incompetence.

Ireland has only had 2 office holders older than Pelosi is now.
Dev who retired aged 90 and Boland, aged 84, and that was almost 50 years ago.

Funnily, Pelosi has been reelected for over 30 years. So the electorate have confidence in her and her party do. So clearly neither view her as incompetent. Trump did rattle me and others, mainly due to the damage he was doing. He thankfully has not achieved reelection.

Remind me of what happened when Trump shut down the country.

    Who schooled who exactly?
