Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wondering did you order that big set before brexit kicked in or after? Just wondering if you got caught with import fees etc. From them.

it was after (end of January) and all i paid was the standard Delivery charge of about €3ish...they did ship from the UK with Hermes though so it took a week longer than expected.
    BREXIT UPDATE

Already have the batmobile and just finished building the batwing this afternoon!

That bundle is amazing value, and they're great builds tbh.

Looking forward to getting renovations finished on the house, and then wall mount the batwing!

Where is the best place to sell unopened Lego? Have a set or 2 that my young boys won’t appreciate

D'oh. I was able to click and collect a TV from Power City a few weeks back, and sure Smyths is only next door... :pac:

I just posted here that I was thinking of selling it and got a PM! Depends on whether your set is in demand I suppose and how keen the buyer is to save a few quid over just ordering it online (assuming it's still available) also covid wasn't in the equation then.

    Scrap the cap!

Check out people that are selling similar sets on Adverts and see what the going rate for European sellers on Bricklink, it'll give you a good ballpark for what is a good selling price rather than the 'throw a dart while blindfolded' pricing scheme you sometimes see online.

This is slightly off topic but are all the sellers on bricklink legit?

Just a bit paranoid that prices coming from Hong kong might be too good to be true

Zavvi.com have March madness on a good few lego sets. 2.99 delivery, got my order within 5 working days so very good and it's coming from warehouse outside of UK so you don't get caught for customs etc.

I've made almost 300 purchases on there over 6 years and, with a little care, I've not been stung once. I tend to stick to Europe though. Postage is usually better and things arrive faster. There's nothing stopping anyone from buying from anyone else, I just have my own habits. I will always buy from an Irish seller if I can though.

Prices can vary a lot depending on the sales tax in a country. A set that costs 40e here might cost the equivalent of 30e in another country... or 60e for that matter. Some countries have cheap postage too. Hungary and Portugal are two while Germany leans towards the expensive. If you're unsure, shoot a message across to them.

Some stores generate their shipping charges automatically but I always go through a stores shipping info. If someone has a nice little bio, information about themselves or explanations for shipping costs, I'll lean towards them.

Feel free to send me a pm if you've any more questions about Bricklink. It's a great resource but can definitely feel daunting dipping your toe in for the first time. Same as eBay I suppose.

Like everything, if it looks too good to be true it probably is, however the vast majority of BL sellers are fine. Always check their feedback and ignore stores with none or lots of complaints. Also, always pay by PayPal and don't send "as a friend", then at least you have buyer protection.

I have been buying and selling there for years without any problems.

I've bought from Hong Kong a few times and it's gone well each time but be warned, shipping is very slow. Like others have said, never pay as friends and you'll be fine.
