    Anyhow

"BREAKING: Sources in DC report that Congress will be voting on Biden’s extreme gun control legislation as early as next week.

Possible that they will bypass committee process.

    Stay tuned, NRA members"

Any ideas what Bidens "extreme gun control legislation" entails?

NRA seems to be in a heap as an organization.

well it is not really Bidens legislation, is it? Some info here but a little lacking in specifics. https://edition.cnn.com/2021/02/14/politics/biden-parkland-anniversary-gun-reform/index.html
the chances of anything getting passed is slim.

Now if I was a shneaky politician on Bidens team, I would be thinking hmmmm we need to unite our supporters against the 'enemy' and the big bad trump is giving us the silent treatment, and people are still dying and the economy is still suffering....let's rile up the trump gun nuts, get them out protesting/roaring so the people can associate the current sh1tty situation with the actions of the bad guys.

A common enemy is good for bonding.....what will ye guys do without guageguy :(

Given that the 'breaking' quote you put above is from the NRA twitter account and appears to be doing the rounds on Breitbart, post millennial and conservative news daily, it doesn't seem like it's the Biden camp looking to do the railing up here.

Not sure exactly what it entails, but Biden has been talking about gun control legislation for over a year and a half now, so it shouldn't exactly come as a surprise. https://edition.cnn.com/2019/10/02/politics/joe-biden-gun-control-plan/index.html

Saudi Arabia, Israel and 'big pharma' are definitely 3 of the issues that "both sides" is applicable to, unfortunately. One side did nothing, the other launched an investigation that established guilt... and then did nothing. Expected, but no less disappointing because of it,

In the thread he voluntarily banned himself from no less. He sure does like to point out his lack of self awareness to us.

Oh right, yeah on that thread they seemed to think anyone would have actually missed them.

So much so, they went off and created a new account.

And now they can't even keep that to themselves, which of course is the whole point of a re-reg!

    .

Amazing work in a short space of time. Just shows what can be achieved when you have competent people in charge.

Extraordinary work by the WH Covid team. Biden just announced that all teachers will be offered a vaccine by the end of March and every adult will be offered a vaccine by the end of May. that's less than 90 days away.
    Real leadership.

how often (generally) do presidents do press conferences?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,262 ✭✭✭✭Water John

If Biden has something great like this to say, he can host one every day. I'll be delighted to listen.

Only certain things in life are death, taxes and Trump supporters getting themselves thread or site banned.

should a sitting president do a press conference?

should they release their tax returns? No. if there is something illegal the IRS will investigate.

The restrictions in America are absolutely appalling from a European point of view. Thousands at the Superbowl just a couple of weeks.

Where is the Biden leadership on these issues?

    Rarely.

And most are boring (with the obvious exception of Trump).

The U.S. President doesn't even have a form of Leaders Questions in parliament (PMQs).

For big announcements, they'll give an address and there will be no follow up questions.
