Nice. I would definitely do the same if I found a girl I knew.

Would that not make you a “simp” then, C?

99.9999999999999% of them make nothing worth mentioning . It's very much like gamers, where some make a lot of money, but millions of them just play games in their moms basement and make zero, and have no viewers.

what country are you living in?

Even if someone I knew was doing it, I'd just wait for the pics to leak. Onlyfans content is never going to just stay on that site

It's a website though, not just an app.
    You can definitely record it.

Leaks happen all the time. I know there was one a few years ago of Cork girls that was shared around.

No such thing as a photo or video clip on the internet that can't be recorded and anyone posting to a site such as onlyfans with that belief is an idiot.

Even without looking for them (or even wanting to see them tbh) the shots Kerry Katona put on hers were all over Twitter days after she posted them.

It's hardly a "career' with any longevity, though. The core demand in erotica/porn has always been for women in the 18 to 25 age bracket. What happens when she's 25+ and her fans move on to younger, newer models?

It's a bit absurd to claim that any man who enjoys looking at images of attractive women has "mental issues that need to be addressed." How is it any different from having a subscription to Playboy? It also comes with some degree of interaction with the model, which I'm sure is part of the appeal.

When she's 25+ she will still have fans and be making money. There are grannies on there making more than doctors who have many years of work behind them. I don't think you have an understanding of the depths of male desperation and weirdness out there

Who has a subscription to Playboy these days? There are copious amounts of sites where you can watch porn for free. I think many men on there derive pleasure from the process of handing money over to the women. The women probably see the men as pathetic and the men enjoy knowing that. There's specific genres of porn dedicated to that type of emasculation so there must be some demand out there and all of those men would flock to OnlyFans. Try telling people in your life that you are a subscriber to womens OnlyFans accounts. There is a good reason you keep it a secret.

The New York Times (link above) interviewed Elle Morocco, a 36-year-old Florida woman who "has made just $250 on the platform so far, despite sometimes spending upward of eight hours a day creating, posting and promoting her content."

Ms Morocco joined OnlyFans in November and the article was published in January, implying she made $250 (€206) in about two months, despite spending eight hours a day creating/promoting content. So much for earning more than many doctors.

This goes back to what I said before. A small number of people are making a lot of money on OnlyFans, but the vast majority are not raking in riches or anything like it.

According to this blog post on the economics of OnlyFans, the top 1% of accounts make 33% of all the money. The top 10% of accounts make 73% of all the money. But the median account makes just $180 (€148) a month.

    That's believable.

Take the number of Irish lads who would look at porn (say 90%)
How many would pay for a subscription to porn? (Maybe 2%)
How many would pay for an OnlyFans when theres far better paid for alternatives? (Maybe 0.5%)
How many would pay for an Irish girls OnlyFans when theres so many alternatives? (0.1%?)
How much money is there in that 0.1% to pay every Irish OnlyFans girl a decent wage?

    Sweet F. A.
For every 1 girls saying she's making enough to live on(maybe supplementing the dole) , there's another 100 who need to hold down a job.
Unless Irish OnlyFans girls have an international appeal, and I mean, we're not famous for our lookers, unless pale and ginger is your thing.

It's media, and same as all media, it makes the most on box office weekend. Every week after that it makes less and less, there's always some new flavour of the month.

Indeed. I know a fellah forever sending poorly chosen jewellery and dvd box sets from series on the sci-fi channel to a girl with a wishlist as long as yours truly's 8AM loaf (an onerous, dehydrated big stone boulder of a thing, which stayed on the precipice half in half out for one quarter of an hour, any time I tried to press the muscles I could feel a ligament tear coming on or a sprain, eventually it was reswallowed back up the chute and I had try again). Some of these girls make a killing from lads still living in their parents' house in their early thirties in port laoise or port arlington. Nerds are easy pickings for these girls and I say fair fecks to them. The lads are corpses and these girls are the carrion crows come in from Indiana, Missouri, South Africa. Whenever I see untouched Star-Trek and Buffy and Angel Boxsets in second hand shops I just know its excess stock from the lamia.

With the microtransaction nature of it, I would say a lot more. You can get your tv shows for free, but a lot of people still subscribe to Netflix. You can get all your music for free, but a lot of people still subscribe to Spotify etc.

My understanding of onlyFans is that you are subscribging to a girl for a few euro per month. When its that small, and they probably only intend to subscribe for a month or two, many people don't think about it. It's only when, later down the road that they are subscribed to more than half a dozen different girls that they might start appreciate it's real money and start unsubscribing from the ones that they don't really enjoy any more.

I'd imagine the fact that they are Irish is a huge bonus, especially for for Irish guys. The thought that this is a local girl, who could easily be that girl who lives down the road, works in the same office, meets in the pub etc is a massive turn-on compared to some "generic pornstar" from halfway around the world (the porno world is flooded with "generic" pornstars). Similarly, for the millions of men globally on the website, it's "something different/rare" etc.

If there were even 2,000 guys willing to subscribe (and I would imagine it's a lot more and growing), and even if they are typically only spending €20 per month, that's still 40K per month up for grabs. I would imagine it is a lot higher, and with the sub money from international fans, there's easily hundreds of thousands up for grabs for Irish girls per month. After that, for an individual girl, it is down to how many irish girls are active at any one time, what they do to distinguish themselves from the other irish girls, and what they do to attract/retain subscriptions.

I think you're being a bit optimistic there, to be honest.

Initially, an Irish girl might make a few euro, but then, all it takes is a few news stories about the money coming in, and every Jacinta and Mary will have a page. Then it loses it's appeal and it'd be difficult to make anything off it. Once too many are at it, the pool of available subscriber money is diluted.

You'd also have to be fairly good looking, or have something different going on. If Mary from the office is riding a dildo each night for her subscribers, and all the lads in the office are interested, it only takes 1 person to subscribe and you've a private whatsapp group sharing everything.

I don't think it'd be nearly as profitable as you suggest, and I also think it comes with severe societal downsides (whether you agree with them or not). For example, not many men are going to be keen to get with a woman where all of their friends have videos and pictures of her doing sex stuff.

Ireland is also pretty small in many ways, so reputations can stick, and it'd hamper professional progress, too. So you'd have to be committed to going down the road of being a stripper/prostitute permanently, and preparing for the financial collapse when you hit an older age and no one's interested anymore.

Also, your money is all 'under the table', so you'd not be buying a house or getting a mortgage or a fancy car without Revenue having a look at you and crucifying you (you could probably pay tax on your onlyfans stuff, but money you make from meeting people/riding/escorting etc. would presumably be unable to be paid tax on).

It'd be a great position for an 18 year old girl to get involved in, if she was suitably good looking and good at marketing herself, and she planned to move away to a different country or pursue a different career when she had her money made. Although even then, internet activity follows you.

Personally, I have no issue with women stripping or performing sex acts for money. But the above mentioned social issues are real (see fantaiscool's posts for example), and it'd be foolish to pretend otherwise.

    40k a month is peanuts.

You'd need to be pulling in at least 2k (no tax) a month to be viable, unless you're on the dole too.

So 2000 men could sustain 20 girls on just above minimum wage.
But chances are one of these girls is getting 10k of that 40 and the rest are fighting for scraps.

I dunno, for every lotto winner there's a million lotto losers.

Then it loses it's appeal and it'd be difficult to make anything off it. Once too many are at it, the pool of available subscriber money is diluted.

But this is where free market forces come in to play. As the pool is diluted, sellers who aren't making money leave, and so the dilution is reduced leaving those that do attract the most customers (similar to any other business).

You'd also have to be fairly good looking, or have something different going on.
That's a common mistake. Most pornstars are not good looking. Don't get me wrong, the girl wouldn't want to be puck-ugly either. But typically, with porn, the fantasy is in the acts/scenario/visuals, not the photogenic posing. The "girl-next-door" getting down and (very) dirty is always the number one fantasy (not the fake-tanned, fake-titted- fake-blonde model that dominates so much "Michael Bay"-style porn).

If Mary from the office is riding a dildo each night for her subscribers, and all the lads in the office are interested, it only takes 1 person to subscribe and you've a private whatsapp group sharing everything.
But it's not just the guys from Mary's office. It's the guys from every office (and beyond). Actually knowing the girl would likely be the ultimate thrill, but it's the fact that she looks and sounds like she could work in your office that would be the appeal.

Also, while everything can be copied form the website, they do make it difficult enough that it's just easier to hit the button to pay the €3 or whatever.

I don't think it'd be nearly as profitable as you suggest, and I also think it comes with severe societal downsides (whether you agree with them or not). For example, not many men are going to be keen to get with a woman where all of their friends have videos and pictures of her doing sex stuff.

Oh, I agree about the societal downsides, and it is very unfortunate. The religious/feminists/assholes will always have their say, but we are ignoring them more and more each day (except for the feminists who seem to really have taken over from the religious in terms of media/political influence).

However, I think there are plenty of guys who would be mature enough and secure enough to ignore that.

Girlfriend doing it right now? Problem for most guys.
Girlfriend did it 5-10 years ago? Problem only for weak/shallow/immature guys.
Ireland is also pretty small in many ways, so reputations can stick, and it'd hamper professional progress, too. So you'd have to be committed to going down the road of being a stripper/prostitute permanently, and preparing for the financial collapse when you hit an older age and no one's interested anymore.
Never underestimate the popularity of granny porn ;) But seriously, no body aged 18-25 etc ever thinks of the long-term future (jsut look at pension contributions at that age!). I also don't think it would hamper your career all that much. They obviously don't use their real names/locations. And 10 years later very few people would put 2 and 2 together. Besides, I would imagine a good chunk of the girls who do it would see a future in glamour modelling etc rather than civil engineering.

But, as someone who is a senior manager, with large numbers of people reporting in to me over the years, and having done a lot of hiring (and a bit of firing), it wouldn't feature on my radar at hiring time. And if it did, I can't see how I would give a damn. As for finding out after the fact and the girl already works for me (or even if she wasn't in my reporting line), I would probably have a quite word with her and tell her to let me know if anybody gives her any hassle (and I will fcuk them out faster than they can scream "I'm sorry") - likewise, if I did hear anybody talking badly about her or treating her badly.
I think most people would consider "tax optional" as a bonus :). Seriously, though. If they had any sense, they would declare (at least some of it) for tax. It's not all that different to any tradesmen/self-employed etc.

People could likely do all of the above without involving anyone else, yet they pay someone.

This onlyfans “star” on Claire Byrne is very embarrassing. He’s as dull as anything. His looks are quickly fading for me anyway

Though I’m sure my opinion is very important to him as he’s earning €60,000 a month

Are you saying you'd fire someone for talking to somebody else about this "Oh yeah Mary in accounts does/did onlyfans" and whatever conversation ensues from that in the canteen say.

Just like say, someone said "oh yeah, John in accounts, has a YouTube channel" and whatever conversation ensues from that.

    Is that a fireable offence.
