Unstaffed gym insurance

Is it possible to get insurance for an unstaffed gym set up as a "private member's club" or something similar? Obviously including all health and safety aspects possible (e.g. key fobs,CCTV, panic buttons, induction, regular maintenance etc) but without a staff member onsite the majority of the time. Would this be ridiculously expensive and unworkable or likely to be possible?

Aren’t the 24 hour gyms unmanned?

During the night i think they are, although many of these are large businesses and I would worry about the potential for high premiums/risk etc with this model as a small business owner (could you even get insurance??)

I know that many GAA club gyms operate in a similar fashion but again I'd imagine they are underwritten/supported by the GAA as a whole.

I know of a few 24 hour gyms that were completely unmanned at night, I would assume its still possible obviously would be more expensive.
I was a member of a gym that was only manned during classes and closed at like 10pm.
Issue's I can see are people sneaking in mates, damage to equipment through stupidity or lack of knowledge and the obvious liability issues.

Good to know that it is possible in Ireland.

I think there are ways to overcome many of these issues (tailgate keycard access system, health and safety induction, maintenance logs, equipment instruction handbooks etc) but that risk of one claim putting you out of business is a concern if it was possible to take out insurance in the first place

The only way I've seen to combat it is to put a full length turnstil system in the entrance.
I've given inductions believe me a lot of people forget within 10 seconds then do some ungodly form of f**kery
I've seen some incredibly dangerous and stupid sh/t being done in gyms.

People will tell you to get liability waivers, they honestly aren't worth the paper they are written on as tort law prevents the full exclusion of liability.

Being unmanned would more than likely add to payout due to injury as the aul well if a staff member was there it wouldn't of happened or been as bad would be trotted out straight away.

I think (may be mistaken) that the Hercules Club is somewhat similar idea to what you're talking about. Maybe contacting someone from there would be a good shout.
