I will thanks. Think I didn’t open it then was because I had no interaction with them .Hadn’t had a claim for years.

Well, it's a matter of record in their books that the payment was issued and a trivial matter to verify and re-issue it.
If you don't, it stays in their pockets, when it should be in yours.

Neglecting to copy Southwest's customer service while they were at it.

It has been known that if you get a misdated cheque, some payee holders simply change the date and put a squiggle initial beside it similar to the drawers signature.

I'm just surprised MOL hasn't come on the educate these travel agents. They can have their seperate battle but pay your customers, it's not rocket science

Hmmm, would that note void the cheque?

    Saves a few more pennys...

People know what they are like by now so you can't really give out about them.

I would always go with AerLingus even if a bit more

Indeed in pre computer era, and I mean pre proper travel agent and airline compewtur systems, ended up with a paper ticket from Edinburgh to a non existent flight to Dublin. Was bringing the mother for a weekend in the early 80s. She insisted we get flown to London in de Trident jet which was just being taken out of service as she knew I'd want dat on my bucket list, and refused their offer to go via Belfast instead as "it's all bombs there, not going". Always glad I got dat last of de strident flights, just as I got last of the Tupolev 104 flights.

Btw on the hourly Edinburgh to London shuttle the flight attendants went up and down the aircraft collecting fares just like a bus conducted.
