I hope Queen - Under Pressure wins as would have been my pick had I been fast enough but I love this track too

Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder together for Hunger Strike.

I know they were formed a "band" to release a couple of tracks but it was essentially a duet between them. I don't mind if it's disqualified as they formed a band. Leave it up to ye

Congrats Liz and great theme this week. I had load of options, but going with this one as we don't seem to hear it much and its a cracking tune.

Patty Smyth ft. Don Henley - Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough

I haven't heard this song in general in many years. Then the original version of the song came up at the season 3 finale of Dark and it also reminded me this duet - both versions are now on heavy rotation on my playlist.

2025 gigs: Selofan, Alison Moyet, Wardruna, Gavin Friday, Orla Gartland, The Courettes, Scissor Sisters, Nine Inch Nails, Stipe, The Rocky Horror Show, Rhiannon Giddens, New Purple Celebration, Nova Twins

Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman - Time To Say Goodbye

Not my type of music generally at all but I do like that track

Reminds me a bit of Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballé singing Barcelona (would have been my intro to anything operatic)

Might a daily Walrus be worth trying out?

We seem to have a cohort who vote in a couple of days so could well be an option to run them quicker. Might need a 48 hour turnaround though.

We'd probably run out of categories pretty quickly if we had a daily one. Or at least categories that enough people would want to enter to make it worthwhile.

    Maybe, maybe not.

A week seems like a long time to me.

    But it's no big deal.

Don't think it needs to be uppercase but I actually never checked!

Was a close one this week, but with 12 thanks, the winner of the Duets is...

Queen & David Bowie - Under Pressure

Which means, you're up to pick the next category Zaph

  • Registered Users, Subscribers, Registered Users 2 Posts: 47,381 ✭✭✭✭Zaph

Thanks everyone, that was a tight one as there were a lot of great songs there. OK, so despite the restrictions there's still plenty of scope in this week's category - any song by an act NOT from Ireland, the UK or the USA.

Not sure if I can enter again this week, if I can, here's my entry, and if not here's a bunch of Canadians to entertain you.

t.A.T.u. - All The Things She Said

Alanis Morissette - Hand in my Pocket

EDIT: Actually Google tells me she acquired dual American citizenship in 2005, but that was years after this song and she's still a Canadian citizen so does this still count? I can pick something else if needed, I just had this song stuck in my head at the time of writing!

I always consider her Canadian, and as you say she was only Canadian when this was released, so that's good enough I reckon.
