Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So they are giving a phone unlocked, at a great price with no commitment allowing you to pop your own sim in and off you go?

Doesn't sound very VF to me...

Two years ago they were giving decent phones for €39.99.

If Redmi note 10 is around the corner, there is no point for them to sit on the stock. Better give it at cost in hope some users will stay with their plan.

Remote sales regulations, you can return it for full refund.

    Shows as €129 for me.

VF sale is over in a 2 days, any way I can get a free sim from another network to get the €100 discount before the offer is over?

Worked perfect with a 48 sim that I ordered as a throwaway.

    Thanks

Can only select current Vodafone customer, no option to switch/port to them.
The offer countdown is still running, maybe they have sold out ?

Do you know how to avail of Euro 99 offer if I don't have VF account.
Also have 48 SIM ready to move number

It's still available - You need to pick a plan below in order to continue.

    Cheers,
It seems to be adding a 20euro reoccurring plan at minimum as have no Vodafone account

Did the same for me yesterday but when you checkout its not there. Still €99

So for the Sim only deals

GoMo Mobile 120GB CAP 10Mbps (Sub of eir)

Clear Mobile no fair usage cap, Speed 5Mbps (Sub of Vodafone)

    48 Mobile 100GB (Sub of 3)

Virgin Mobils 80GB (Sub of 3)

Does any of you know what the speeds are for 48 and Virgin?

Lycamobile - so I suppose they let those orders go through initially and then cancel? But not even a mail, you need to go into the VF account and check the order status.
Ah well, too good to be true

I got a 48 sim for the purpose of grabbing a deal like this one. I activated it on Saturday, received number, used that number to order the €100 deal from Vf as soon as it was activated. I got a dispatch notice yesterday with tracking number. I can't track it yet though as its not on the Ap system yet.

    Fingers crossed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,615 ✭✭✭grogi

I confirm that it's unlocked and dual sim.

Got mine from VF today. Delighted so far. Just had a notification pop up of "Vodafone appbox initialising" - so far the only thing Ive found with any mention of Vodafone. I didnt put in the sim card that came with it. Anybody notice this when you got yours?

Customer care blamed a lack of stock on the cancellation even though it's in stock now. She wouldn't place the order for me again though. Said to contact my local shop. Might try them tomorrow.

This has been a recurrent issue with online orders for years and, yes, it is related to how their system (mis)handles stock flows. All you can do is keep ordering and hope that you'll eventually be successful. When I tried buying this phone on the Vodafone website before Christmas, it was third time lucky for me.

Be aware that if you buy in a Vodafone store, they'll make you pay an extra €20 for credit and even insist on applying the credit to your new account before handing you the phone. If you buy in Carphone Warehouse, they'll charge the €20 but at least give you the top-up voucher so you can use it on another account or flog it.

Arrived with the postman this morning. Ordered Sunday night.
Currently I am on a One Plus Nord and wanted this as a backup.

Great piece of kit, almost as good as the OPN but at a fifth of the price.
Can confirm unlocked and with NFC. Camera very good
A skin case also included, Very handy that you don't have to buy credit upfront.

    Happy out.

My order was cancelled twice. No email or any notification both times. Went onto their live chat and after 20 mins they couldn't help at all or provide any reason and I was told to ring the helpline which I assume is pointless since I wont be able to order it over the phone. Have to say their whole website is shockingly slow and buggy and cancelling orders without informing customers is ridiculous.

    I got mine on Tuesday.

I ran Miui Debloater straight away. I'm a bit pissed that Facebook and it's services are integrated into the operating system, I do not use any of it's services... willingly. I have dismissed all privileges.

Before I switch from my Huawei P10, there are a few things I can't figure out.
On the P10, I can switch between apps with a swipe of the thumb pad, I can't seem to figure out how to do that on the Redmi... any pointers? I need this feature.
I can't seem to make the time and weather app larger on the screen... well not noticeably to me anyway. I bought this phone as I need a bigger screen as my youthful charm is maturing... my eyesight is not as good as it used to be :)

Other than that, It's a good phone, the misses has a Note 5, she may still get the Note 9.

Mine dispatched and is with An Post - I got a free sim from 48, didn't pay for any plan and stuck it in an old phone, used that 48 number to 'port' to Vodafone and get 100 off, they texted the old phone a confirmation code and dispatched it the next day, thanks OP!

We are not mind readers - we do not know what you plan to store on your phone, which would dictate the size (or indeed, if any) extra storage is required.

Am in the process of buying from Vodafone site, the 20 euro top up is added to basket, any way to avoid this??
Edit: as someone previously stated, reverts back to 99 euro after going through checkout process, hopefully will arrive as using a 48 sim for this which is still active but not used.
