Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Be careful ordering from Dyson at the moment. I purchased the straightener in March and it never worked properly. I have been communicating with their customer service regularly and the courier company they use in Ireland won't handle returns atm and Dyson aren't doing anything to facilitate an alternative way to return i.e. go to one of their outlets to return etc but even though I've never had a working product the guarantee is still running down (they made sure to let me know that when I can eventually get a replacement the guarantee is from the original purchase date).

BT and possibly Currys have stands where you can try.

Armors have/had a stand you can try.

This is back in stock on Dyson.ie for anyone waiting since December! I bought the complete set for long hair today, being delivered tomorrow and I can’t freaking wait.

I checked with Dyson directly and the order is being fulfilled from their Dublin warehouse so no additional customs on delivery.

I got the complete set for Christmas! Being honest, my hair type probably isn’t ideal for needing it. My biggest issue is that my hair is so fine that the sections dry before I can get to them properly with the curling attachments, even without predrying. I also had really gotten the hang of using a GHD to curl my hair and I’m not convinced the air wrap is any quicker. It takes a while to get used to curling with it! But it does do a lovely job, and the “smooth and straight” attachment is very handy for every day hair drying, particularly as it’s easier to add a bit of volume at the roots with it than a separate brush and dryer.

That's interesting and helpful, thanks Faith. I have fine, wavy/kinky hair that tends to frizz and so ends up looking dull and fuzzy. It can't handle any level of product without becoming lank and greasy at the roots. I usually end up just tying it up, I'm over fighting with it.
I have a feeling this would work for me but it's a hell of an investment for something that mightn't work, especially as I'm fickle so so might not use it much even if it works well :D
Ah well, someday shops will be open again and I'll get round to getting a demo!

It arrived today and already I’m considering selling every other hair tool I own :D

I’d washed my hair and left to dry naturally this morning. When it arrived I dampened my hair slightly and used the stiff brush to smooth it out and put some shape on the bottom. Looks brilliant and despite having long-ish thick hair it only took 10 mins! Then I couldn’t wait so I dampened my hair again and used the narrow curl attachments. Took my a few goes to get the hang of getting my hair on to the barrel but I got in to the swing quickly.

Left is my hair naturally, middle is after using the stiff smoothing brush, right is after using the narrow curling barrel.

I got this for christmas too and i'm really enjoying it.

I have fine hair but lots of it and usually just straighten it with my GHD. I cannot blowdry my hair myself to give volume to my roots and to be honest i'm never mad about my hair when its blowdried straight by a hairdresser as it loses all volume.

So as a complete blowdrying newbie i found this relatively easy to use, it takes me much less time then drying followed by straightening and i prefer the results i get. I haven't tried curling yet so i'll update when i do.

Overall while this is expensive i think it is worth it for me. However if you are good at blowdrying and have other tools that work for you i'd say its not worth it.

This has been me for mooonths! :o

I’m good at doing my own hair anyway but this was so easy. Like I don’t doubt that I could get the results in the middle pic by blow drying my hair, straightening it and then putting the top and front sections in to some sponge rollers but it would take over an hour easily and then would have to sit with the rollers in for the guts of another hour. It only took me 10 mins with the Airwrap and I probably got a better result too.

I can’t find the airwrap in stock anywhere.. seems as if it’s like this a while? Just wondering is anyone else in the same boat/found a solution?

Has anyone tried any of dupes for the Dyson airwrap?

I have the Airwrap two months now and I can’t get over how poor of a product it is. I gave up blow drying my hair three years ago, I have thick coarse shoulder length hair and it took way too much time to do it properly. However the thought of going back into the office with a wild mop of frizzy hair made me think twice and with that in mind I decided to buy the air wrap, thinking it was an investment that would save me time and money in the long run. The first time I tried one of the straightening brushes and it left me with lots of flyaway hairs and frizzy ends. This was using heat protector beforehand. It was nowhere near salon quality, just a frizzy clumpy mess. I tried the curling wands later that week, nice bouncy curls initially but an hour later they had dropped out, by the next day I was left with the clumpy frizzy mess. Since then I’ve tried using different products beforehand, not using them at all and still no success. I just can’t understand all the positive reviews. My ghd was almost a third of the price and gives a much better finish. The only good thing I have to say about the Airwrap is that it is very light and easy to use.

Anyway I’m stuck with it now. If anyone has any tips on how to get a better result with it I’m all ears!

I can't say I buy into the hype either, after nearly a year. I have mid-length, fine, straight hair with curtain bangs. I find the large round brush helps shape my curtain bangs and the paddle brush gets me pretty sleek, straight hair, but nothing wildly better than a normal hairdryer + brush would do. The curls take forever and fall out really quickly, especially compared to using a GHD. Maybe if I had the time and energy I could try going for loose, voluminous waves or salon-style blow drys but I just rarely care enough to spend the time on it. It has basically become a very expensive hairdryer and brush for me.

I think I may invest, where is the best place to buy? Am thinking Boots ? Thanks

Wondering if anyone recommends this as a birthday gift? She’s already got a GHD (original still going strong) and a trade hairdryer which is pretty fantastic.

generally likes hair gadgets for a while then forgets about them all except the two mentioned.

Is the hairdryer attachment any good compared to a traditional one?

I spent a while discussing the air wrap with my hairdresser last weekend, who recommended a technique she swore by to get a gorgeous blow dry effect. I then saw someone on Instagram doing the same thing and it turned out fab.

i spent a good hour today doing my hair that way and have ended up looking like an extra crap Pamela Anderson impersonator 🤦‍♀️ . It doesn’t look like a salon blow dry, it looks like it was tied in a bad bun and then let down.

Honestly, the only use for the air wrap for me is as an extremely expensive hair dryer. Maybe people with more skill, and definitely more patience and time, would be able to make it work but not me.

I have the airwrap 4 months now and absolutely love it. I have very thick straight hair and it makes it look so smooth and bouncy. I have the long barrels and that makes a big difference for me.

Quick question, I ended up buying this for herself last year (she's getting the hairdryer this year). I got the complete but I believe there's a version with longer barrels.

Do these make much of a difference? Was going to pick them up as an additional.

Her hair is down to her shoulder blades and is quite fine (if that's important). She's not had much success with the curls but does like the dryer & brush attachments. I was wondering if she didn't have much success because they're the shorter barrels.
