It may or may not be legally easy, but it would definitely be a logistical nightmare and probably take months to implement.

I don’t know. If we strictly do it the numbers coming in would quickly crash making it easier.

They must be countless dead people in their homes not discovered around the country.

    It'd be a start.

It's never too late with new variants and with trying to control ongoing community transmission. At very least we should try to mitigate against importing new cases. Vaccination will take bones of this year at least. Many things which were considered very difficult have already been done, time for a political will to actually sort it.

That's infuriating if true. Completely cosmetic approach hoping to deflect the main issue. Very much like their bull**** online form they brought in in the summer. They are so obvious at this stage. Clowns.

It would but I just don't know who 4 would apply to. If we're back to the square 1 thinking of saying Ire doesn't have any direct flights from Wuhan say it would show how little they've learned especially re variants and people could have travelled from other countries to get to Ire.

Excellent point, the variants are probably in many European countries as of now.

I understand that a few people may think that way but the message should be to continue social distancing and mask wearing and all the other necessary measures. Vitamin D seems to be really a huge factor in people's ability to survive this virus.

NPHET did not want to mandate masks as they thought people would mix more.

NPHET did not want testing on arrival in Dublin airport as they thought it might encourage travel.

NPHET do not want to recommend Vitamin D as it may give a false sense of security.

They are right too. There will be eejits stockpiling vitamin D for themselves and knocking it back like mineral water thinking that they found the covid cure and life can go on as normal and there's no need for lockdowns because vitamin D is the magic medicine.

Does anyone else think joggers and runners should be asked to wear masks when running . ? We walk in parks within 5k and constantly have to step aside from puffing and blowing joggers . They pass us out and we have to wait and not step straight into their blown out breath

So quarantine is going to be introduced simply because of the British suggestion and public pressure.

Surely those figures give cause for a little positive news?

    No.

Do you think its ok that they blow out there breath while passing others ?
If I was standing in a Supermarket queue puffing and panting my breath like that I am almost sure people would be annoyed

Not only that, I think there should be a one way system for footpaths. Like if there's two footpaths on a road, there should be one going for one direction and other side for the other direction.

They're less likely to be wearing masks. So can possibly still spread it. I have seen people out walking with masks.

Wear a mask yourself in the park if you’re worried.
It’s easy to walk with a mask, especially in this weather.

At least joggers are generally by themselves so easy to avoid. The worst are people who think they're the only ones out for a walk and crowd the place or stop to chat so you end up very close to them.

Or the people having a chat across a path instead of along it... so you have to walk between them.
