Anyone know how long it takes for you to be contacted by the department you’ve been assigned to? I was notified on Friday by PAS of the department I’ve been assigned to and given details of a HR contact there. PAS said they “would contact me shortly” but no word just yet. Am I just being impatient or would they normally contact you quite soon after you’re told what department it is?

I'd say give it till this Friday before worrying about it. They said they'd get in touch so leave them to it imo.

If it is any help I got assigned my department 18/08 ....
Then heard from them on the 23/08 and started on the 10/09.
This was pre Covid mind you so things may be slower but at least you know where your going, sit tight. From my experience and others I know who have started, they normally contact you 2/3 weeks before start date

I've just been invited to interview for Dublin. So glad that they've finally reached my place. This forum has been great for interview advice so I feel confident about it.

Hi can I ask what your oom was?

Congrats! I’m interested to know this too and also very impatient.. I was notified my department yesterday, they have offices all over the city so I’m itching to know exactly where I’ll be going.

Congrats to you too! No word yet but it’s the same with my department, there’s offices all over the county and I’m currently TCO in the same department in a location that’s really awkward for me to get to so I’m really eager to see if I get to move a bit closer to home. Best of luck, hope you get a location that suits you.

Hi all, does anyone know what batch and the number they are currently on the Dublin panel (after the interview ) thank you in advance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 491 ✭✭newbie18892

I have a query about the OOM after interview. I know that you are assigned a batch number and a OOM within that batch. I'm wondering if the OOM you're assigned is determined by how well you perform in the interview or is it simply the case of being added to the next place on the panel once you pass the interview? Hope that makes sense.

They were on batch 16 oom in the 50s as of five days ago, not sure how much it's moved since!

Been wondering this myself, I think it's just next in line in the batch yeah

When you pass the interview you’re given a breakdown of your score in each of the competencies. I assume the new oom is based on the score you achieved at interview. I’ve seen people on this thread who were interviewed in the same batch as me and who’s original oom was higher than mine and oom after interview was lower and vice versa.

Great thank you. Do you know how many would be in a batch? Like are there different batches for different counties or how does it work ?

Delighted to start my Co position last week. Just got my payslip for next week and it states my net is €373 after deductions. Anyone know if this sounds right? I took a 12k paycut for this position and while it was the right one for me, I'm now worried how little I'm earning!

Sounds like your tax credits aren't right. Check that first you should be clearing over €400

Different batches for each county but no idea how many in each! Seems to be between 50-100 in Dublin

One pay scale 1 for a CO (Gross €471.20)

Say a single person with the standard tax credits should be getting just about €400 p/w. Take out union and income protection payments of a €10 p/w on top of that if signed up also.

Are you on a cumulative or a week 1 tax basis btw? Check that also. Get across onto a cumulative basis but that depends on your personal circumstances too.

Thanks. My OOM is in the 90s batch 16, what are my chances of being placed somewhere before it ends?

Working since late Nov and getting on great. I signed up for an online course on peoplepoint today but won't really get time to do it in work. I know you can do it through citrix from home but will they give me access to citrix only being there a short time.

I know the money is rubbish starting off but all i would say to people here is take the job with revenue. Fantastic work life balance, regular hours, flexi time pre covid. Money will go up. Less stress in your working life the better. Certainly has helped my life, mental health, etc.

I was assigned to AGS a few weeks ago, I had to complete 2 rounds of vetting, 1 with PAS and then a separate one that the gaurds run themselfs. I completed both and was told the next step is for someone to contact me for a reference, it's been a week since bith vettings where cleared, doesn't anyone know how long it takes to be contacted after vetting for a reference or to be assigned to a station?

Just looking for some general feedback on possible venues for CO and TCO assignments.
Where would be the best place one could hope to be assigned to in terms of workload & quality of training for new staff, etc?

I have a good friend who was a TCO and then CO and now is an EO in Revenue and she loves it. Really enjoys her work. She has progressed really quickly through the ranks too.
