91 million deal for gps and pharmacists to administer the vaccines.
Disgraceful €60 per head. Ridiculous fee.
If this is a National emergency they should be told their administrating the vaccine or their licence to practice should be withdrawn.

This on top of a €30 fee for every person they’ve referred for a test.

It’s a great little country we’re living in.

So they're being paid the going rate for a gp appointment for...... A gp appointment.

Not seeing the issue, if you're good at something, never so it for free.

Nice money. I'd imagine with a bit of organising you'd do ten per hour, possibly more?

Not a chance they can be giving a dose every 6mins. You also have the 15min observation time, which will limit how many can be sitting in the waiting room. There's also paperwork to be filled in.

Ridiculous money. Will probably do minimum 6 per hour so €360 per hour and vaccination will take priority over their normal patients you can be sure.

I know this isn't the greatest problem on earth right now but I heard an ad with Marty Whelans voice and wondering if the eurovision will go ahead this year?

It would be great to see the Rose of Tralee go ahead in August. Maybe an online zoom Rose of Tralee if it's still too dangerous for large crowds to gather.

With the cost of this crisis, this amount of money is peanuts! If it reduces lockdown by 4 to 5 days, it would be worth it economically!

I doubt it, with the 15 minute observation time necessary. I wouldn’t think too many GPs would have room for that amount of people sitting around, socially distanced, along with their regular patients.

It’s only around half what they get anyway though, isn’t it ? I think it’s €60 for both doses, most GP appointments are, what, €50/€60 each ?

6 per hour, how you working that out, there's a 15 minute observation period after the jab, so 3 per hour is generous.

Are they travelling like the flu vaccine? That brings it down to maybe 2, then who's looking after the surgery? A lokum needs to be paid. Will they need to have a nurse with them? That's another expense added on.....

If the jab does take priority over their regulars, then they're making 60 quid by losing 60 quid......

Not the money making racket you're painting it out to be is it?

I always said price is not an issue, if it can be done quicker they will get the money back. These are people who are getting 350 euro every week, if they can get these back to work and them paying taxes then it’s a win win situation.

Even though it won’t be like that, even at €360 per hour they’d be well down on normal pre covid. They’d normally get through way more than 10 people an hour and it’s usually double the €30 their getting per jab. GP isn’t a minimum wage gig.

There's no 15 minute observation period required for the AstraZeneca vaccine, unless indicated after clinical assessment.

I know but still awful to see so many people dying. Highest deaths reported in same day since start of pandemic.

Oh, excellent, I didn't know that.

You're still not jabbing 10 people an hour.

Is there a link to that ? I thought all vaccines had the observation period. Even the flu jab has it, although it’s probably not strictly policed tbf.

Not how it works. Those deaths could have been anytime over the last few weeks.

Great to see today's figures. We seem to have hit a peak hospital and ICU. Should be in a much better position come the end of January.

    Have you actually seen them...??????

You’d have six jabs easily done in 5 minutes. Not like they’re going to jab someone and wait 15 minutes before the next injection.

As I said if this is the big national emergency that we’re being told for the last 10 months.
They should be just told they are doing it or bye bye practitioner licence

We are always asked to wait 15 after a flu vaccine
But she vaccinates others while we wait
